The magical mushroom barley soup here is truly magical. They have taken a childhood favorite, made it healthier, tastier and the absolutely the BEST mushroom barley soup I have ever had (sorry Mom, Nana). Can't wait to try the others.

Breakfast offered in the morning. If you get there late in the morning, you can order breakfast or lunch. Tried the Liege waffles--slightly crunchy texture with embedded sugar granules. Had the Angus Beef Melt on a chewy crunchy french roll, came with a side of quinoa salad. Tried the tomato soup too. Filling and healthy. Menu offers vegan and paleo selections. I stared at the dessert/bakery case but just did not have room to eat any more.

Seemed to be plenty of seating space. Customers at the cafe reflect the interesting slightly funky vibe of the midtown neighborhood.

After a long couple of weeks on the road I arrived back in Reno. Had early flight in so did not have breakfast and it was quickly approaching lunch time. So in my usually approach I asked my blushing bride of 37 years what was new and exciting. She said a new restaurant open e few weeks or months back that keyed on fresh vegetables.
Always game we drove towards to downtown Reno to give it a try. It was in a newly developed center. Good parking, so for Reno downtown that was impressive. Went in to what I would characterize as open and simply. We were greeted at the door and shown the menu which a variety of interesting food combinations. As we sat I requested coffee and a younger gentleman brought clean cups and poured said coffee into our cups and explained where the beans were grown and what flavors we might expect. The bottom line was the coffee was good. Mild but full of flavor. So a good start to a new experience.
In reviewing the menu it became obvious that the dishes were intended to be made with good health first. Though delving in further it became more apparent that flavor and taste were even more important. My wife had the Paleo Breakfast Bowl while I had Julis Breafast sautée. Both were outstanding. The blend of ingredients was well balance and the freshness, well like they just picked the vegetables and the meat well handled. On the table was a chili sauce which was full of spice, just enough kick and again fresh. Pricing is on the moderate to high but well worth the amount.
The service was very good. Not sure how long it has been open but there were no signs of the just opened jitters. Food presentation was great and we were served quickly.
Another table ordered the waffle and pancakes. So the next time I go in I know what I going to try.
