Located in the Atlantis Casino. Good place to try your gaming skills (or luck) and have a great meal. Prices are average for the Reno area. A bonus is that you can get your drinks comp'd because you are gambling. The Ruben is excellent and I almost could not complete it and the fries. If you're not staying at the Atlantis, USE THE VALET PARKING- it's free (except the gratuity you decide on)

“Unexpectedly good NY deli”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2013

Located inside the Atlantis Casino, the large Manhattan Deli was an unexpectely good dining experience.

Initially, we were turned off by the smoking inside the casino. However, it was not bad in the attractive deli. We signed up for a lunch consisting of a bowl of matzoh ball soup, and appetizer of chopped liver and a shared beef tongue sandwich on rye. (If you've never tasted beef tongue sliced thin, you are in for a genuine taste treat).

These are classic selections for any Manhattan, NY-style deli, such as Katz, The Stage or Carnegie. As such, we would be comparing as we've enjoyed all three Manhattan standards.

We were off to a good start with the matzoh ball soup. A very light and tennis-ball sized Knaidlach (the official name for a matzoh ball) in tasty chicken broth rated an 8 on our 10 scale. Next, the chopped liver plate also earned a solid 8. It was accompanied by tasty sliced tomatoes, fresh mandoline sliced onions, halved hardboiled eggs and lettuce underpinnings.

The chopped liver was fresh and perfectly prepared. The only disappointment was the wafer-thin square rye slices - like soft crackers - that came with it. All wrong. We quickly secured actual slices of rye bread. We spread the pate generously and thoroughly enjoyed the dish. Plenty of food here. If the dish had been served with actual rye slices, it would have earned a 10.

Our beef tongue sandwich on rye was accompanied by a crisp Manhattan kosher dill - perfect. The meat was sliced very thin. There was an ample amount. I pulled piece out of the sandwich to taste test: a 10 again. After spreading Guldens mustard (great choice) on the bread, I thoroughly enjoyed my half sandwich, and my partner enjoyed the other half.

Great meal, maybe a little pricey. The sole downside is that we had to navigated a smoked-polluted casino twice.

“Nicely Surprised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

My wife had been hungry for a deli ham and cheese sandwich for a week so when we arrived in Reno, I searched for deli's and found the Manhattan. It is in the Atlantis Casino. We drove to the front of the casino and were directed to the east entrance. The staff welcomed us and they were very helpful in guiding us to what they had that we wanted on our sandwiches. Her sandwich had about 1/2 a pound of ham and mine had about the same with turkey. The sandwiches were very big. So much so that we had the second halves for our lunch the next day. Every thing was very fresh and the meats were of high quality. We won't be looking for another deli in Reno any more. We're going straight to the Manhattan!!!

“Best Deli outside of New York!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2013

The Manhattan Deli is one of the best deli's I've ever eaten at and yes I have been to the famous Carnegie Deli. The service is great and the food is fresh and delicious. One of my favorites is the soup and sandwich. Hot corned beef with tomato soup. Not too filling and perfectly made. I go there every time I'm in Reno.

Eaten there a couple times now and love the deli sandwiches. Killer pastrami, roast beef, and other favorites, but it's a little pricey...but worth it
