Stayed here for a volleyball tournament due to its proximity to the convention center. We booked the reservation 6 months ago and requested a refrigerator for the room. They told us there would be a $10 nightly fee added for the refrig for which we said okay as we needed to keep snacks and drinks cold. We confirmed this two days before coming to Reno.
Upon arrival (1pm) we were told that the room was not ready and to check back periodically. We asked if they could call us once they had the room ready as we were going to have lunch somewhere in the hotel. No problem they stated, and we provided them with two cell numbers. We heard nothing for 2.5 hours and finally went back to the front desk only to be told that they had tried calling us. They had another room for us that didn't have a refrigerator as all refrigerators had already been allocated. What? You just told us when we were checking in that it would be available and now it's not since others had checked in ahead of us and requested them as well? No assistance from front desk manager and no one seemed to care at front desk. The comment from "Leonard" at the front desk was .....we are totally slammed so you can call the front desk tomorrow and see if a refrig is available. Why do I need to call when you screwed up?
I play slots and table games. The slots have got to be the tighest in the world. I like to observe people and over the course of three days and 20+ hours in the casino saw zero Royals. I play Vegas often and during that same timeframe I would normally see at least 2-3 royals.
Tables were okay and dealers for the most part had good attitudes. Ended up playing in downtown (Nugget) and made up for my losses in two hours.
Fortunately we have no reasons to return to Reno, but if we ever did we would NOT stay here again. We had friends staying at Harrahs downtown who had a great experience and stayed there because they had similar experiences at the Atlantis before. We choose to ignore this due to its location to the convention center. Big mistake.
Reviews on their restaurants are being done separately but suffice it to say that food was okay, service was okay and prices were too high.
