I have always heard Reno was the "best" place to go for the penny slots. Maybe it was the week before and after I was there. Harrahs hotel was very good, restaurants there were great. Neighboring casinos were a HUGE disappointment (Silver Legacy, Nugget, Atlantis, Peppermill, Circus Circus, Grand Sierra) with the exception of Cal-Neva. The staff at all locations was frendly enough and slot attendants were always prompt when needed, but for someone who was expecting a BIT better payout as advertised, I was disappointed. If you are close by, then certainly stop by Reno and Lake Tahoe. But if more than an hour away, don't waste the gas money. Lake Tahoe's attraction is that it is water in the middle of the desert. If that excites you, go.

This rating is on the casino only, and NOT the hotel (which was very nice).

I could not believe how dead everything was. Hardly anyone in the casino. They just recently closed the poker room because of the lack of players. Not sure why this is because it seemed to be nice. Frankly I did not play here because it just seemed to have no pulse. I went next door to Cal Neva, and had a good time there.
