“Great Resort”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We have been Mt. Rose season passholders for years; it's worth the drive as the terrain is challenging, the scenery is beautiful, the staff is fabulous, and it's hassle free. No tram, no gondola, just park and ski. Great food too!

“One of the Very Best, most overlooked Ski Resort”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

First, Mt. Rose is in Nevada, which sounds far away from Lake Tahoe. But it's not. It's very close to the northern part of the lake.

You generally park at the Top of the mountain, which is great. You're on the slopes very quickly, which is rare compared to other Tahoe Ski areas.

It's a very friendly mountain, and has the feel of a small family mountain, yet it's huge and the skiing is excellent. The peak is very high by Tahoe standards at around 10,000 ft.

One of the best things is the views. Mostly, you're overlooking the Nevada desert. This is quite unique. You're in many feet of snow, and below you is dry desert - trust me, it's very cool.

Pricing is lower than the other (overpriced in my opinion) ski resorts in Tahoe.

“Locals favorite!!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

If you are a beginner or intermediate skier this is the best place to learn or relearn how to ski. The lessons at all ages are excellent and the program for the little ones is exceptional! The mountain offers a lot to advanced skiers including the Chutes but after a number of runs I can imagine they might start to get bored. Which is exactly why you would hit Timbers, the bar, for a cocktail, snacks and some laughs. VERY close to Reno, VERY convenience and a high enough altitude to usually guarantee snow. You can get discounted tickets on the web so check that out before heading up. Tuesdays are two for tuesdays and there is a Ladies day discount as well. College discounts also apply. ENJOY!

“Disabled Ski Program”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

This place has a good disabled ski program. I went there as a helper for a disabled skier and had a very good time. We spent the day sking with Mickey Gilley and his band at Mount Rose after seeing them play the night before in Reno.
