A bit of a drive but worth every minute, a great setting with a lot of the animals in their natural habitat. Very educational.

Although it's far out of town(11 miles from Stead exit off 395 North), it's a large park with lots of animals, each of which has a nice large area to run around in. There are lots of cats(lynx, cheetah, mountain lion), and some smaller ones(turtles, birds). We were lucky to catch the bear feeding and it was fun to watch how clever the bear was in getting the food out of the different places they hide it.

The staff were nice, and there's a playground for the kids out front. There's also ice cream and some drinks which if you go in the summer like we did, you'll definitely appreciate. Bring lots of sunscreen, as it's the middle of the desert!

It has been a year since visiting, but this attraction is great - get to see north american wildlife up close, so close to Reno, too. These folks are doing a great job of caretaking and educating the public about our wildlife. Didn't have time for the cheetah run, but that would be pretty great, too. Check it out!

We recently attended the Cheetah Run at the Animal Ark outside Reno, NV. In addition to seeing the 3 cheetahs run, we toured the rest of the grounds with other animals in cages. We saw a tiger very close, a mountain lion, a lynx, wolves, owls, raptors, and other animals. The animals are well cared for yet kept as wild as possible. Seeing the cheetahs run was exhilirating! They are beautiful animals that love to run and chase their prey yet are very endangered. The staff was very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Visit if you have the chance.

The health and variety of animals is so very worth the drive. Price is under $10. per person. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Really glad we made the trip after thinking about it for many years. There is also a playground for young children. Sodas and waters available midway through the self guided tour on the honor system. Just great all the way around!
