We reserved for 3 nights. We checked out after 1 night and found a different motel. Our room was dirty and smelled sour. Our linen was dirty. No a/c. The room was extremely hot. We called the manager and they said they would bring a fan, but that never happened. We had ants all over our room. Even crawling on us in our beds! We complained and they said they could spray. REALLY! With my family including children. Don't know where you wanted us to go while you "fumigated". Totally a horrible to start to our vacation. Don't stay here

We've been staying here for over 20 years - before it became a Quality Inn. We stay in Reno 2 to 4 times/year for business and pleasure, and we always check for vacancies here first.

The property is older and could use a bit of extra maintenance (e.g. most towel bars by the tub are loose). But rooms are large, mattresses firm & comfortable, very quiet despite location on a major city street. I love 2nd floor rooms with balconies overlooking the little courtyards. Lots of convenient parking. About 10 minutes from the airport. Generally the staff is wonderful. Some long-time employees have left since Quality took over - don't know if there's any connection.

Another reviewer mentioned heating/AC system and controls. That's definitely a problem for me in spring & autumn when I like the room cooler than most people and the heat is on, with no option for AC.

My main complaint is change at the pool since Quality took over. In years past the huge pool was heated - warm enough to get in without shocking the body, but not as warm as bathwater. Last visit (in late summer) it was hard to motivate myself to get into the cold water. Even fast swimming didn't warm me up. The area has always been fenced, but Quality put in a new one, which is like a fortress, with only one access point. You used to be able to walk through that area to go to breakfast; now you must walk around to the front entry to get to the breakfast area.

That said, for me, this property still beats others in that price range (and some more expensive ones) in Reno. Newer properties may have modern decor, but many have smaller pools, cramped parking, crowded breakfast rooms. I hope Quality will put the shine back on this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in north & south buildings open directly outdoors for easy access. Other buildings have c...

This place is a little older but we had a very nice experience here. The staff was nice and the room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. it's probably time for some updates but I would certainly stay here again.

This hotel is desperately in need of renovation. The rooms are spacious and the potential is very good, but the air conditioning is poor and the controls are something of a joke. The shower head is supposed to be adjustable but has only one setting. The tub drains only if you hold the drain plug down in the open position. The beds are hard and not very comfortable.
It does have a walkout patio that leads directly to the pool.

Room Tip: You would probably be better off finding different accommodations.

Spend your $80/night on something else. This facility is quite old/dated and not maintained well. The room was barely passable in my book; breakfast (free) from 6am to 9am on a weekend was horrlble. Another couple remarked to me that they travel quite a bit and stay almost exclusively in Quality Inn's in the Western U.S. - they flet the Reno facility was extremely sub-par and indicated they would not stay here again. Not a lot of choices in Reno in this price range, but even if you need to spend an add'l $20 or more per night do it - this is not a comfortable place.

First room smelled like smoke although designated as a non-smoking room. The next room they gave us was better smelling. The floor needed to be vacuumed and the sitting table needed to be wiped off. The small refrigerator door was falling off the shelf. On a positive note: the water pressure was great and the bed was comfortable. After talking with the clerk on checkout, they gave us a $15 discount on the price.

Stayed here in March...motel and rooms very run down since the last time I stayed here. Grounds were unkept. Didnt get more than 4 hours sleep as the rooms above us were awake all night. Pacing, talking loud, moving furniture or who knows what?????? Made a complaint to managment next morning, said he would give an adjustment on our credit cards???? Not a motel snob but this place is unacceptable for 65.00 a night...so for the condition of the room and the fact that we got NO sleep I can not give this motel any positve rating.

Room Tip: Dont stay here. Stay at Peppermill, cant go wrong....
