After the Harrah's companies were incorporated, the shareholders could not justify paying the large fulltime staff that was needed to keep restoring and maintaining Bill Harrah's incredible car collection. Most of the cars were auctioned off but the best of the best became the Reno National Automobile Museum. Not only is this an amazing collection of cars, the museum was designed very thoughtfully to present the collection in a way that is approachable and fun for visitors of all ages. On our recent trip, the rotating exhibit hall was showcasing the National Off-Road Hall of Fame. I also noticed that they had moved the Jerrari off of the "street" display and brought in a collection of military vehicles to display.
It seems that I even see things in the permanent exhibits on each visit that I never noticed before. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
