“More than just cars”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

Ladies visiting this museum come out as impressed as any guy. The American history of Automobiles, their makers, successes and flops. I've visited this place many times over the years. I had seen it's origins back in the seventies while Bill Harrah's collection was all complete. Take time to listen to your individual speaker guide, otherwise you will really miss out. The street settings are wonderful with artful store fronts of period businesses.

“You'll love this if you have a romance with cars!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

This place celebrates America's fascination with the automobile! Originally it was located in Sparks, NV and was the private collection of Bill Harrah... you know, the guy who built Harrah's Casino! What is housed in the current National Automobile Museum is the best of his collection. My family has spent many enjoyable afternoons exploring this place. It's right on the Truckee River and the exhibits are very informative and interesting! It's a great place to take the kids or the guys who are still kids at heart!

“Nice if you are into cars”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

It is what it is, a collection of many many cars from 1900 to the recent present. The oldest cars are interesting and fun to examine (no touching). It is a little haphazard in presentation, with some cute or interesting displays. An unhurried and nice indoor activity.

“An excellent assortment including a lot of Harrah's.”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

I went here especially to see the 1907 Thomas Flyer which won the 1908 New York to Paris Race for the USA. It was the sole American entry. I was not disappointed. There were only about 6 people in the museum. My wife liked the Rolls Royce. Go Figure?
