“Room, Spa & Sushi bar review”
Reviewed December 7, 2004

We stayed at Atlantis Hotel on Dec 4 for 1 night after our ski trip at north tahoe. We booked the room via hotwire. We called upfront to request for a king bed room but were told that all were sold out, but we could add $30 to upgrade to higher level of room which can guarantee us a king bed room. We declined. When we checked in, we requested king bed room again and was arranged one.

The room is clean and of average size. We then went to swim (no charge) and spa ($8/person). The hot tub is of mini size (about a king size bed large!). There was a steam room and sauna room (normal size) in the spa area. It was quite relaxing to have a hot tub and steam after a long day ski. Thereafter, we went to Sky Terrace to try the "all you can eat - sushi buffet" ($20/head). The sushi quality is just so-and-so, but we found that the dishes available in the adjacent restaurent (not sure whether it is the oster bar) look very nice.

There was a $3.36 energy surcharge when we checked out. The self parking is free.

We got a pretty good deal via hotwire for the hotel, for less than $60 (include tax) a night, I'm quite pleased with Atlantis, except I may try another restaurant next time.

We stayed in the Motor Lodge part of this hotel/casino on Nov 13-14, 2004. We had a reasonable rate ($69.00) for a Saturday night stay. The first room that we were given was already occupied. The hotel quickly corrected this problem with a new room. The Casino was nice too. We would stay here again.

This was the absolute WORST hotel room I have ever stayed in. My wife and I stayed in the "luxury" tower on the 16th floor. We got the room through Hotwire (never again). We specifically requested a NO SMOKING room and upon check in the clerk told us that our floor was completely NON SMOKING. As we entered the hallway to the 16th floor, an overwhelming odor of tobacco smoke eminated around us. During the night, the odor of smoke began to permeate the room. By morning, I had a severe sore throat and felt horrible! Not only this, but the carpet in the room was stained and dirty. Hotwire calls this hotel a "4 STAR". PLEASE...this place doesn't deserve a 2 star rating. Dated decor, dirty rooms, poor ventillation. Traveler BEWARE!

You won't find a better staff than what they have at the Atlantis. Room was excellent; gaming was well above average & good variety of choices in dinning. My wife and I had a great time and look forward to going back. Highly recommend!

Put my family up at the Atlantis this past weekend!! What a wonderful place. They spent time in their spa and got a wonderful massage and facial. The service they experienced was first rate, from the restuarants and the casino. If you are traveling to the reno area I would highly recommend this hotel.

The lodge part of the Atlantis is a shabby (that's being kind), absolutely horrible place to stay! We thought were getting a 4-star room but got one that had stained and missing ceiling tiles and stunk. We got a smoking room when we had specifically reserved a non-smoking one. We were tricked by the ratings in Hotels and didn't know they applied only to the tower part. We complained about the false advertising to the manager, but were told that there was nothing they could do, as we had booked our reservation through a third-party service. After I asked for the corporate headquarters number to lodge a complaint, the manager on duty comped us with a free buffet. That did not make up for it.

I got this hotel through hotwire. At checkin there were some 10 odd employees standing around, nobody seemed interested in helping me. I was given a room in the "luxury tower". It was nothing close to a 4 star, perhaps at the 2 star. The room smelled like smoke, the a/c was loud, there was a big gap between the suite door to the adjacent room (I was NOT staying in a suite) and the noise and smoke from next door filtered through. The bathroom light spontaneously went on and off throughout the night, and the room was located next to the very noisy elevator. I asked to move but was told I would only be moved to the motel and "I wouldn't like that".

In the am, after NO SLEEP, I complained to the manager. He did not even offer me a complimentary breakfast.

DO NOT go here!!
