This hotel is only 10-12 minutes from downtown Reno or the Airport; convenient for those flying into Reno but far enough away to feel safe and unwind. The location is in an upscale business park with a walking path, open space and plenty of nearby shopping/dining options.

The hotel room had two large flatscreen TVs including one in the living room and another one in the bedroom. The room had a full sized fridge and a very usable kitchen with a microwave, 2 burner electric stove, pots and pan, glasses, cups, and plates. I stayed in a one bedroom and other members of my group stayed in one and two bedroom units. All were in as-good if not better condition with plenty of space and good sized kitchens. The living room had a foldout sofa bed and an office table. The king size bed was comfortable and had a "sheeted blanket" (i.e. a blanket between two sheets) which is my favorite kind of bedding since it gets changed between every guest. There were DVD players (movies available a the front desk) and the TV stays on the same channel/volume when you turn it off and back on (i.e. it doesn't just turn on to the hotel channel every time).

The breakfasts were great: Sausage or bacon, eggs everyday, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurts, waffle makers, cereals, muffins, pastries and sliced bread, coffee, tea, and several different juices.

The gym has 2 treadmills, an elliptical and a stationay bike. It has a universal gym machine that can adjusted to do a variety of exercises. The pool is indoor and they have a jacuzzi too. Earlier reviews are accurate. This was the cleanest pool area I have ever seen at any hotel. Oh, they also have free washers and dryers, and the again, the area was spotless.

Other common areas were equally well kept including a large sitting area off of the lobby with a fireplace, multiple TVs, a business center with free printing and evening receptions during the week food and drinks.

What really set this hotel apart for me was the level of service. Every single hotel employee from the General Manager to housekeeping was warm and friendly. I've stayed at 5-star resorts that could learn a thing or two about customer service from the management of this hotel. At the end of a long day it's just nice to know that you have a friendly place to go to unwind and prepare for your next long day.

This hotel is only 7 miles south of the Reno Airport; convenient for those flying into Reno. There are plenty of hotels closer to the airport, but I prefer not to hear the noise of planes taking off. It's close to a variety of restaurants, and Walmart is across the freeway. Lake Tahoe can be reached via route 431.

The hotel room has flat screen TVs; one in the living room and another one in the bedroom. The refrigerator is big; not those mini fridges typical of hotels. The small kitchen area has a full size microwave, 2 burner electric stove, pots and pan, glasses, cups, and plates. We stayed in a one bedroom. The living room has a foldout sofa bed, and an office table. The king size bed is comfortable. I had to lower the AC setting to 70 degrees because the room got warm.

The breakfast is good. They alternate between sausage and bacon. Eggs are available everyday. They have 2 waffle makers, a variety of cereals, muffins and sliced bread. Coffee, tea, and different type of juices are available.

The gym has 2 treadmills, an elliptical and a stationay bike. It has a universal gym machine that can adjusted to do a variety of exercises. The pool is indoor and they have a jacuzzi too. They have free washers and driers.

The rooms facing the freeway have great views. I prefer the east side rooms because I do not hear the freeway noise when I open the windows to let the fresh air in.

Staybridge suites Reno has everything you should/can expect from this brand: great rooms with kitchens, breakfast (..and dinner M-Th....), pet friendly w/pet area outside, really helpfull staff, , etc.....but I have to say at first I wasn't impressed. Even though by Hwy 395, kinda hard to get to....seemed hidden with a large small businesses. Its 8-10 minutes south of main Reno....well you get my first reaction. Then I started thinking about it and I realized: its a perfect spot for anyone to get to ANYWHERE in the Reno/Tahoe area (Reno,Sparks, N/S Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, Carson City, ) to do ANYTHING (snow/water skiing, mountain biking, hiking, UNR, heritage sites, shopping, gambling, etc, etc..) because of where it its. You have 395 and its connections vie Mt. Rose highway to anywhere in Tahoe in an hour. Virginia City or Truckee in 40 minutes vie 50 or 395/80. If you are a family or a couple who want to see ALL that the area offers, not just gambling, there is not a better place in the area to fit it all in from,...this from someone who has been coming here for over 45 years with family. This place grows on ya and fits you like your favorite hat or boots!

Room Tip: Quietest rooms face the east. Pet area is hillly grassland in back between hwy and hotel. West facing rooms have best view and breeze at night. Pool and patio is on north side.

What my husband and I were looking for: A hotel away from downtown & casinos, a comfortable & quiet location with easy access to different parts of the city, and free wi-fi.

Pros: We got all that we were looking for plus some. Quiet atmosphere, comfortable bed and pillows, refrigerator, electric stove, bar-b-que pit and location. There is a Whole Foods just down the street so grilling out and cooking some of our own food was a huge plus. Proximity to outdoor Summit mall was another benefit.

Cons: Strange overly deodorized smell at times, but not overwhelming.

The hotel was heated to 80+ degrees inside the hallways, lobby, and common areas which fed into the individual rooms. This would not be bothersome if our room air conditioning system was working. We checked in around 6:30pm and found our room #204 to be 78 degrees inside. Adjusted the A/C to 68 and went out to dinner. The room never cooled down. Complained to the check in person who informed us that they were experiencing several similular complaints regarding the air conditioning system and would get it fixed tomorrow. This solution did not solve our immediate need for a 1 night stay. Another thing we noticed in our 2 bedroom suite was the locations of the King and Queen beds. The King bed was in a room so small that it was only a few inches away from the window wall. There was no room for any person to walk by. The Queen bed was in a room that was really large. It was very obvious that the bed placements needed to be switched in this suite. The beds are very comfortable but without the ability to cool down the room that made no difference in getting a good nights sleep. The parking does not accomodate trucks with trailers. The breakfast buffet is very good. The suite kitchen is nice and stocked with the essentials. Given the abundance of hotels in Reno to choose from I would most likely stay elsewhere.

Ingwerson625,

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the Air Conditioning issue you experienced. We did indeed have a problem that took a couple days to completely repair. With the extreme heat we have seen in Reno for some time now, I understand the discomfort this caused you. Again, I do apologize and regret that this impacted your experience at our hotel.
