Whiskey Pete was one of the cheapest options in town due to a EDC festival and a few other events over the weekend. The location is about 40 minutes from the strip however the casino has everything you need and if it does not- the casino down the block does. The hotel was comfortable - I stayed in a smoking room because my friend is a smoker- and surprisingly the room smelt smoke free until he started to smoke.

Nicely done for a cheap casino hotel

On our way to California we stopped for the night at whiskey Petes.Horrible place! Entire building is filthy. Front desk people wouldn't even acknowledge we were standing in front of them when complaining about the cockroaches that we woke up to in the morning. Do not stay here !!! Can't give less than 1 star on trip advisor but it's far less than a zero!!!

Needed to find a nice place for breakfast outside of the Las Vegas Strip, and found Whiskey Pete's to fill the bill. The International House of Pancakes has a 1980s feel. Food was plentiful and tasty. Most interesting were the display of the birth of Las Vegas and the Bonnie & Clyde death car. Will certainly return for future engagements.

Less than a decade ago, this place was hopping. This time, not even a sound from the slot machines, and everything is just... sad.

The good: Front desk was polite and housekeeping did the best they could with what they have to work with.

The bad: Unbeknownst at the time of reservation, we were charged $42 when we signed in for the "resort" fee, with $30 returned when we left (within 2-5 business days). A 27" tube TV with poor reception, open Wi-Fi (no password), and decor so old it was cracked and faded. The pool appeared to be operational but was listed as closed.

The ugly: The window wouldn't close completely, which assumably let in the bug that died in the bathroom. Beds were beyond firm, had NO mattress pads (ew?!) and rocked when we rolled over. Side doors were completely unlocked (complete access for anyone who wants to skulk those aging halls). The secondary lock to the room was a chain, and the mount was broken.

Recommendation: Stay somewhere else. Our poor sleep led to a long travel day.

First visit ever here! There was an IHOP and McDonalds located in the casino which was very convenient. We ate at the IHOP and both the service and food were excellent. Lots of penny slots at this casino. Interior very open and brightly decorated. All staff members were very friendly. Great little place to stop!
