We enjoyed a drive through the park on our way out of town. Beautiful views but it was extremely hot that day so we did not do much hiking. We were able to see beautiful views from the car.

We were really looking forward to visiting here after a 9 day trip around the Grand Canyon area. Unfortunately it ended up being about 110F that day, no breeze and we decided to only do 1 hike (mouses tank) and some really short ones. We had water with us, but lots of hikes were in sand. The visitor center had a a sign up for heat advisory/ do not recommend hiking. Get your water at the visitor center. Bring sun screen and hat / almost no shade in this park. Mosthike stops have bathrooms but no water. After a very quick stop at white domes trail we saw 4 emergency vehicles flying down the road / not sure what happened but people should take the heat and danger of heat stroke very seriously if you are not used to hiking in these temps. Atlatl rock steps and petroglyphs were really neat along with arch nearby.

My family of 4 decided to explore the Valley of Fire State Park on our recent visit to Vegas. It was about 1 1/2 hour ride from Vegas. The views through the state park remind me of CARS, the Disney movie. Such a beautiful drive! We went to the state park in July. I would recommend going early morning on extremely hot days. We saw most of the park before it got too hot to be outside. Judging from what we were able to accomplish, I would love to return when the weather is a bit more bearable. I'm certain the hiking trails would be spectacular. If your looking for a peaceful day with nature, concider exploring Valley of Fire Sate Park. Also, it only costs $10 per car...a pretty good deal.

We spent two days exploring this amazing little park in Nevada. The rock formations are amazing. If you are in Las Vegas, drive out in visit.

The Valley of Fire State Park is a 'must see' if you are in the Nevada area. Gorgeous, natural rock formations - very scenic.
