“Ripe Off”
Reviewed February 14, 2011

We have been going to the Waverly's three to four time per month for the last seven years. We have always been very satisfied with (Nels, our regular server) the service and at most times, with the food too. Our opinions have changed since Sunday (February 13, 2011). We were there for the Sunday Brunch to try their new brunch menu. Both the food and service were very good. According to the brunch menu, one can choose either ala carte or four courses brunch and dessert bar comes with all entres. We were in for a surprise when the bill arrived. We expected the bill to be around $60.00 but it totaled about $90.00. I had the ala carte Seared Ahi Tuna ($21.99) and coffee; my wife had the King Crab Legs four courses brunch ($28.99) and hot tea. First page of their new menu is items in ala carte prices and the second page of the new menu is for the "Four Courses" and brunch cocktails. The top of the second page menu reads-

Quote
"ENJOY THE ENTIRE BRUNCH EXPERIENCE, ALL FOUR COURSES
$28.99
WAVERLY'S MARKET CHOICE
KING CRAB LEGS
Pound and a Half, Precut and Steamed

BROILED LAMB CHOPS
A Waverly's Favorite Since The Beginning

Both of Our Entres
Served with your choice of our Exceptional Sides"
unquote

The restaurant's explanation for the excess pricing interpreting "WAVERLY'S MARKET CHOICE" should read "WAVERLY'S MARKET PRICE", so that made the Crab Legs $35.99, plus salad ($6.99), plus soup ($3.99), and $2.00 for coffee and $2.50 for hot tea.

The restaurant manager did not even try to come up with any explanation except that they would look into the menu again and change the discrepancies.

They have lost us as their customers.

“Incredibly good and great atmosphere”
Reviewed May 15, 2010

Would recommend this place to anyone who wants a great meal and great service at an affordable price. The waitstaff is always attentive to our needs and very friendly. The ribeye steak is one of the best cuts I have ever had and always consistent. The fresh cut potatoe chips are a must for a side dish as well as the sweet corn. One reviewer wrote about the Strawberry salad being too sweet, just perfect in my opinion and with the glazed nuts it can't be beat.....my favorite salad for sure. All in all a great steakhouse and great service, make it a monthly pilgrimage for the family.

“Gets Ribbon for WORST Steak House in Vegas - Go to Outback instead”
Reviewed February 21, 2010

Food Quality and the Service were OK, However the execution of actually cooking the food was very poor.

We Ordererd - 2 glasses of Wine - Normal Pour Size and Price for "Upscale" place.
2 Filet's - One Medium one Medium Well.
The Medium Well steak was delivered as a Rare Cut - When it returned after re- cooking it resembled a lump of coal. This was not merely just overcooking - but sabotage by the kitchen of their dining room. The Medium steak was cooked with too high heat settings - and it was completely dry and tough.
1 Crabcake Dish. The Crabcakes were heavily Breaded - rolled in something and
Deep Fried. The Chef concocted sauce shows he has no idea of what he is doing.
1 Strawberry Spinach Salad - Way too sweet and sugary with a poorly executed house dressing.

The Bill came to $ 111.00+ plus tip - since it was not the servers fault we left a $ 20.00 Tip and the manager "graciously" did not charge for the crabcakes.

There are litterally hundreds of Steak Houses in Vegas that are better than this.
For Price/Value This Is the WORST Steak House in Vegas !

“Blue Ribbon for Worst Steak House In Vegas”
Reviewed February 21, 2010

We Ordered:
Crabcakes - Heavily Breaded - Rolled in Something (suspect Bread Crumbs) and deep fried. Very Little Crabmeat involved here.
Strawberry Spinach Salad - Way Too Sweet with another inappropriate sauce (like with crabcakes) that was just a mess - it just shows the Chef is not even a good cook.
2 Filet's One Medium one Medium Well. The medium well steak was delivered Rare. When sent to the Kitchen for additional cooking it returned as a lump of coal. This was sabotage by the kitchen of the Restaurant and points to weak management. The other steak was cooked at too high of a temperature setting and was dry and tough.
For a Bill of % 110.00 I do expect far better. We left the waiter a $ 20.00 tip - since it was not his fault - however I will NEVER go there again. Also the Manager "graciously took the crabcakes off the bill - he never bothered to come out and look at the steaks to see what his kitchen was doing - I suspect what happened to us was not a "rare" (pun intended) occurrance.

There are Hundreds of Great Dining options in Vegas. This place is dedfinitely not one of them.

“Delicious!”
Reviewed March 6, 2009

We ate at Waverly's Steakhouse last week, and everyone in our group loved their food.

It opens at 5:00 on Wednesday, and since we were in a rush to get to a 7:00 show on the Strip, we made reservations ahead. We were seated right away, and the waiter was very prompt. Great service through-out the entire meal.

I tried the "MACADAMIA NUT CRUSTED CHICKEN ... Chicken Breast coated with Macadamia Nuts, Bread Crumbs with Light Lemon, and Butter Sauce". It was heavenly. The potatoes and beans were yummy, and I don't even like beans!

The ambience was very calm and elegant. I will definitely be eating here again.
