Freindly staff, and great golf course with the back nine the hardest side. Bar and resturant available. We were ther after re-seeding and had to stay on the cart path. Would play there again.

The guy who designed this course was trying to duplicate his success with Wolf Creek and he just ended up making a course with some good holes and some really distracting, awkward holes that end up ruining the layout. I have played it several times and have a good feel for the course now and I would probably rate it the fifth best course in Mesquite.

Falcon Ridge has it's moments, but I would place it after Wolf Creek, Conestoga, Oasis and Casablanca when in Mesquite. Try it a few times and I'm sure you'll agree. The few holes that are fun and beautiful don't make up for the rest that are tricked up and annoying.

Played Falcon Ridge on a Wednesday in March. The pace of play was very slow. We teed off a little before 2 and could not finish before dark.
The layout was great and did not feel contrived, even though there were ample opportunities to make the course gimmicky (with the exception of #15). The doglegs and elevation changes were softened by the fairly flat greens. The greens were incredibly slow, though, and bumpy enough that I was very disappointed. I also would have appreciated a driving range, as the only place to warm up is off of mats into a net. Getting off a plane from the East Coast for my first round of the year, some feedback before teeing off would really have helped. There was a lot of development on the course, but for the most part it was pushed back enough that it wasn't too intrusive. There were some great views of the surrounding desert, but also of the surrounding strip malls.
I would recommend this course, especially at the twilight rate of $75. But if you're flexible, make sure to schedule a time when it's not too busy, or you're looking at a 5 hour plus round.

I am sorry but i have to flat out disagree with every positive review about this place, except for those complaining about pace of play when teeing off late (you know u have to get out earlier in mesquite!). First off, the greens at Falcon Ridge were an abomination, they were unputtable. My friend and i had 4 birdies each at wolf creek and not one here because you coudnt putt. Secondly, the course is nowhere near as pretty as the pictures. The famous picture of the downhill par 4 (with the lake on the right) is so airbrushed its ridiculous. Next, the course is not only short, it doesnt even play to its listed yardage of a paltry 6500 from the BACK tees. The second through fourth holes actually played like 120, 300, 320 and 110, from the tips??

Lastly, the numerous blind tee shots at Falcon Ridge got ridiculous after a while...it was like a way to make this short easy course more difficult, but to me was just manufactured. Oh, and how can i forget, all the houses on the course, not to mention the par 5 on the back that has the liquor store across the street as the backdrop!?!?

Falcon Ridge tries to portray itself as a 3 star version of wolf creek and to me its barely a one star version. Go to Utah, Coral Canyon was a far superior course, as was the Palmer at Oasis....at least the Palmer doesnt pretend to be something its not, and their greens were excellent.

FR was flat out the worst part of what was a wonderful 4 day golf trip!

I have played Falcon Ridge about 7 times since it first openned.
It is a must play course. The back nine is similar to Wolf Creek for the first 6 holes then becomes more average. It was in good shape, The wind can be a real problem on both nines but pplay it as you would any wind and you will do fine.

Do not stop at the turn as there is always a lot of confusion about who goes where and when, especially if you start on the back!

The distances are deciving but accurate, unlike some other Mesqutie courses. The long grass around the greens puts a premium on hitting the green and being short is not always good. Long can be trouble as well, but the greens are huge most are 3-4 club greens.

Enjoy, it will be a memorable round.
