“great stay....”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

we have stayed at harrah's in laughlin many times, most recently may of 2012, rooms are very nice, housekeeping is very good, price is the greatest of all. Casino is clean, fun, and very cozy. The Restaurants and staff are very accomodating, and if you prefer their is a Mcdonald, Cinnabon, and Baskins and Robbins also in the resort complex to get snacks. We enjoy the pools best, one for adults only and one for families with children. Their is a bar right at the adult pool, also an indoor gym. If a chlorine pool is not your thing, the riverside area has tables, lounge chairs and umbrellas for comfort. During our stay their were also two different outdoor concerts and found several upcoming entertainers later in the summer.

Stayed one night. The room was clean and comfortable, but most definitely not soundproof. I heard every word (and more) from the people next door. I like the fact that the casino has a large gambling area for non smokers. We ate at the hotel's high end restaruant - The Range. Excellent food and service. Very expensive. Average entree is $35. With a cocktail each, salad, entree, wine, tax, tip, the bill came to $170, but we thoroughly enjoyed the experience so it was worth it. The hotel is at the south end of town so not good for walking. If you stay here, get a river view room. The view is so worth it.

Room Tip: Be sure and book a river view room. The Colorado River flows right by and the views across the river...

It started with the toilet - lifted the lid to find paper stuck to the seat and floating in the bowl, along with some sort of receipt. Attempted to lock the door, but the 'ball' was torn off the hasp lock. There was some sort of dried substance on the small table, and amenities one finds in even cheap roadside motels, like coffee or a clock in the room were nowhere to be found.

Thought we'd try the buffet restaurant Friday evening, but after standing in line (without moving) for over a quarter of an hour, watching the (lone) cashier carry on a conversation with someone up front and a half-dozen people open the barricade at the front and walk through, we left.

Any future visits to Laughlin or Bullhead City will definitely find us in a better managed facility, most likely NOT a casino hotel. There's a reason Laughlin is considered a 'poor relative' of Vegas, and this hotel exemplifies it.

Just returned from a 4 day 3 night stay at Harrah's. Older facility but exceptionally clean. The casino, restaurants and hotel have the most caring, courteous and happy employees. The hotel rooms need a little updating. But we didn't stay in the room except to sleep a few hours and take a warm shower. Food in the buffet was exceptional. The next door neighbor was loud but that had nothing to do with the hotel. The rooms were comped with flight included. Use your rewards card.

Stayed one night Oct 27th. Have stayed before and the stay was OK. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel looks a little tired. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good bed. Lots of walking but offset is there are services available that other hotels in Laughlin don't have. McDonalds, Cinnabon, 31 flavors and a large arcade. Casino was smokey but there is a no smoking section. Free Car valet service was excellent. Far south end of casino row, water taxi is available to get to other casinos. Excellent rate, would stay again but prefer the Golden Nugget.

My hubby and I visited Laughlin 10/31-11/2, 2012. We have visited many times before, and on several of those occasions, we have stayed at Harrahs, including the most recent trip. For years, Harrahs was our favorite hotel. Clean, well-appointed, affordable and friendly. NOT ANYMORE! The place is falling apart. Check in was quick (and why not, it was Weds afternoon). Elevator up to the room was dirty. We were in the North Tower, which is cheaper (we discovered that it's cheaper because it's so run-down). We enter the room to find: A room that was stuffy and way too warm (so, we turned the a/c on full blast); one tiny little ashtray (for 2 smokers); a bed bug crawling on the bed (I searched high and low and didn't see another one); a bathroom door that had no finish or paint on it (it was a plain old hollow-core primed door, $15 at Home Depot) and was covered, COVERED, with black fingerprints AND had a depression in it where someone must have punched it; a picture on the wall that was badly askew (we tried to straighten it and couldn't, it was fastened to the wall); FILTHY windows; dirty carpeting; a nasty shower curtain; and a notepad by the bed with ONE sheet of paper on it (LOL...why bother?). Pretty bad, but what do you expect for $20 a night? Then we went to the pool. Since we don't have youngsters, we have always avoided the noisy family pool, but since it was midweek and during schooltime, we thought we'd try it. The area was filthy beyond words (bird crap and trash everywhere), there were broken chairs scattered about, and it stunk. I'm not talking about about a slight aroma, I'm talking an overpowering stench of sewage. It was as though we were sitting inside an outhouse. So we went to the adult pool. Despite huge signs at the bar area advertising weekday drink specials, there was no one working the bar, and not a single waitress happened by during the entire 2.5 hours we sat poolside. Had to search the entire area like an archaeologist to locate an ashtray (I found what is apparently the ONLY ashtray on the premises). At least it didn't stink! For dinner, we went to the buffet. Now, the Fresh Market Buffet at Harrahs used to be halfway decent. Good variety, not exactly 5 star cuisine, but again, what do you expect? Well, for $20 a meal, I expect something better than Banquet TV Dinner food! The mac n' cheese was cold...not cool, COLD. The chips were stale. The bread pudding was mush. The mussels tasted old. The shrimp were so grossly overcooked that they were utterly impossible to peel, as the shrimps would fall apart completely. That was the last time we ate at anything run by the hotel. Thereafter, it was McDonalds, Starbucks and Cinnabon (all located onsite). We gambled some and lost. Come to think of it, we NEVER win at Harrahs. Got to our room, which was still hot and stuffy, even though it was only 75 degrees outside and the a/c had been blasting for 8 hours. Went to bed, and were awakened at 8:00 by the cleaning staff. I said "But we have the Do Not Disturb sign up!". And I HAD put it out the night before, I always do. Well, no sign. It had been removed or stolen during the night. Checking the hall out of curiousity, I noticed that NOT ONE ROOM was displaying a Do Not Disturb sign. Not one!!!! This makes me suspicious. I ALWAYS keep my DND sign on my door when I'm staying in a hotel. I don't want the staff in my room for ANY reason at ANY time, and I know I'm not alone. So, why were all of these DND signs missing? Is the hotel staff removing them? Well, SOMEONE is removing them. Just to be on the safe side, I removed everything of value from the room and stashed it in the trunk of my car. Also, there used to be a shop in the lobby that sold everything for $10. Cool, fun watches, scarves, hats, all for ten bucks. Well, that's gone and now everything in the gift shop is grossly overpriced. In conclusion...this place is probably okay for families who don't have many other options. If you aren't at all fussy about cleanliness and just want a place to sleep and swim with the kids, Harrahs will suffice. But store your suitcases in the bathroom and leave NOTHING upholstered on the floor (including clothes, shoes, purses, backpacks) to protect against bed bugs. If you want a nice clean hotel, stay at the Golden Nugget instead. The Nugget is SPOTLESS, has more amenities and it's "on the strip". I've stayed there several times in the past and always really enjoyed it. It's more expensive, but from now, it's worth it to me. I will never stay at Harrahs again. I'm just going to pony up the extra cash for the Nugget.

Room Tip: Just go someplace else.

the hotel staff was great, the room was nice, not 5 star, but really didn't anticipate staying in the room very much. We spent a week with them, and were fully accommodated..we got anything we needed, with a friendly smile and helpful staff. The casino is small, but the resort is beautiful. Everything was clean and well kept. The Adult Tower room was quiet, and although not advertised as such, we had a view of the river. I would absolutely stay there again, and actually plan to go back in a few months.
