“Great Place, we'll be back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2011

We had a great room with a fantastic view. The staff was friendly and responsive. Only complaint was needing to walk through cigarette smoke filled casino to get to elevator to room but that is true for every place in town. The Aquarius is our new favorite for Laughlin

We booked at the Aquarius Casino Resort after reading reviews and shopping around. Aquarius was rated as the #2 place to stay in Laughlin, so we figured we couldn't go wrong. To make it even better, we got a pretty good rate. The first thing we liked was that it had free parking in the parking structure. The check-in process went fine and the girl checking us in was quite pleasant. We were even given the upgrades that we were wait-listed for (at a slight increase in cost). We noticed that the hallways and the elevators were a bit dated. The rooms were not quite as dated. Upon entry into our room, the first thing we noticed was there was no duvet on the bed, which made it look funny (all white). No biggy though. We inspected the room, and although it was nothing special, it wasn't bad at all. We did realize that there was no hotel directory. We arrived hungry and wanted to check out what was available without having to explore.

We went and got something to eat and played a little in the Casino. We did enjoy the Casino!! We got back to our room and were tired from the trip and working late the evening before so we crashed. Good thing we were tired, because the bed was quite hard. It was a Saturday night, and our room had a door to adjoin the next room (if needed).... apparently this door was made of paper because at about midnight, 2 women entered the room next to us and it sounded like they were in our room with us. LUCKILY, they didn't stay in the room long and when they returned, they didn't stay up long!

The next morning we got up and took our showers, only to find that the tub took a good 15 minutes after the shower to drain. Also, that bathroom was quite dark (again, not a huge problem). When we left our room for the day, we told the guy at the front desk who said he would get someone up there immediately to snake the drain. That night we could tell that someone had been there, because they didn't put the drain plug back in place. Unfortunately, whatever they did, didn't work. BUT... housekeeping did put a duvet on the bed!!! :)

All of that aside, the view was spectacular, the hotel has more than enough options for food, and the Casino was nice. Also, the hotel is right across the street from an outlet mall, very short walk to get there! It's also located on the River Walk, which makes it nice to bounce from Casino to Casino.

Overall our stay was very pleasant and I would probably stay here again, but I will most likely check some other places out first, just because of the few issues we did have.

I've stayed at this hotel every time I'm in Laughlin for the last 14 years and LOVE it! The remodeled rooms made it even better! I wish I had a bed this comfy at home. I like a firm mattress yet the bedding is soft. Love the floor-to-ceiling windows & view of the river. The location is the best because you can comfortably walk to many other casinos (unlike Harrah's).

I always stay in the "adult-only" tower and have never seen children in this tower. I like the retro-look wallpaper & carpeting in the hallways and think it's unique & refreshing.

Two things I would've liked to have seen changed during the remodel: 1) The replacement of the center button-flush toilet. 2) The lack of a mirror in the bedroom. The only mirror is in the bathroom! What was the designer thinking?!?

I"ve been staying here for the last year because of the excellence of their rooms. I have nothing negative to say about it because I see nothing wrong in any area. The mattresses are new pillow tops, the tv screens are 32" flat screens, and for a casino hotel, actually has channels worth viewing. I've stayed at some of the others, and tho' some have upgraded, imo, they still are a step behind the Aquarius. Most of them are less expensive, but how can one quarrel about a room costing less than 40 bucks a nite. The one minor quibble I do have is room wifi, which costs I believe 12.99 per 24 hrs. Most people, it appears to me ,use the Starbucks on the casino floor for free.

From the moment we opened the hotel room door , our jaws dropped.
The king sized bed was covered with 5 pillows and beautiful linens, the furniture was modern, sleek and comfortable, but the stunner was the floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the Colorado River......to die for!
The shower great with good water preassure and plenty of hot water, coffee machine with good coffee and plasma TV included.
Another feather in the Hotel's cap is the great buffet at the Windows on the River Restaurant . Very good food , atmosphere and service,we felt like we were on a cruise ship.
We will definately stay there again!
The only negatives were that Wi-Fi was not free in the room, and they had no business center.
Also of note was that the casino smelled really heavy of smoke, so we didn't spend much time gambling there.

My second stay at the Aquarious. Will go back for third vist planned in March 2011. I guess the main reason you go to a casino is to hopefully win money. The slots here are great, no big jackpots but good pay back with "playing money". Saw several people win some pretty good jackpots but unfortunately not me. Although, I played for four (4) days on break-even money each day. I play at a lot of casinos around the country and you can't ask for more that that. I did hit small pots that kept me even, and I eventually hit a medium pot that paid for each trip before I went home.
Hotel is nice and clean, staff is very nice, comps are fair (rather leave with cash, who cares if comps are slim) and food is acceptable.
Summary: Nice room, nice staff, reasonable food, very good slot casino.
