When we want to have a nice dinner in Laughlin, we go the The Steakhouse on the ground floor of the Tropicana. We've been there a number of times in the last few years and although there have been management, personnel and menu changes, The Steakhouse continues to satisfy.
Dinner for two with a bottle of wine and a shared appetizer and/or dessert can approach $100 But that is a reasonable cost for the calibre of service, quality of food and up-scale ambience. The Steakhouse is not for everyone. But if you willing to spend extra dollars for an alternative to the all-you-can-eat buffets and coffee shop-type restaurants, this is a good choice.
Laughlin is a very casual place in general, so you don't have to get very dressed up to feel comfortable here. However, if you typically eat your restaurant meals in a tank top with your baseball hat on backwards, you probably wouldn't blend in well here.
Definitely make a reservation, especially on weekends, and request a booth for the best seating. Check ahead to see which weekday(s) the restaurant is closed.
