I was recently back in Laughlin at Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort, and I have a new favorite place to eat. The Riverside restaurant, which is open 24/7, offers everything you'd want at good prices, with efficient and friendly service, too.
When you think about it, Laughlin is really pretty close to the middle of nowhere. So to expect really top-notch food might be considered unreasonable. But the Riverside (which really does offer great views of the Colorado River) exceeded my expectations on multiple visits.
The menu has a wide range of choices, with prices ranging from $4.50 casino low-roller specials up to about $15/per person and lots in-between. Pretty much standard American fare, but well prepared, with good portions and very friendly service, especially if you're the type who likes to be called "honey" or "sweetheart".
Seriously, unless you need enough for a small village, skip the buffet and head to the restaurant. You'll be glad you did.
