This was a very nice trip. I learned some things I didn't know and the scenery was beautiful. The price was very reasonable for the trip - and there were beverages available on the boat as well as restrooms.
This is a relaxing and informational cruise on the Colorado River launching from the Riverside Casino. We were not able to go under the bridge to Davis Damn due to the river being too high but still enjoyed the leisurely trip by the casinos with information regarding the development of Laughlin. We took the Saturday 6:30pm cruise and watched the sunset and then the full moon. Nice way to kill an evening in Laughlin without spending time and dollars in the casinos.
As we sailed, the cost was $10/adult (02/2014), and that price for the ride to Davis Dam, and especially the wonderful narration about the history of Laughlin was worth it. Some charter and bus groups had two-for-one coupons, but even at full price, passengers will get their money's worth.
We didn't think to look into it, but it might be worth asking if a video narration is available for the trip, so that passengers can bring it home for friends and family to enjoy vicariously.
You really can't beat the price! The excursion is $10 per person and 2-for-1 coupons are easy to come by. The boat is large and comfortable. There is a a full bar aboard with reasonable prices. The taped narrative is very informative and interesting, although it can be hard to hear in certain areas of the boat. Really it is hard to find 90 minutes of entertainment at such a great price. I highly recommend this excursion.
This is a low-speed cruise that heads up the Colorado River to Davis Dam and back. There's recorded audio that discusses points of interest and the history of Laughlin as the cruise progresses. The boat itself is nice with a bar serving soft drinks, beer and cocktails.
All in all - a very fun time!
This cruise is free for guests of the hotel (Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort). For non-guest the cost is $10. A bargain!
We stayed at Don's Riverside Resort in early April, 2013 and received a 2-for-1 coupon for this river cruise in the coupon booklet we got when we checked in. Our total cost was $10 total for both of us. This is the second year in a row that we took this cruise and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. However, this time the weather didn't cooperate like it did last year. This time it was overcast, very windy and fairly cold - not the ideal conditions for a relaxing river cruise, but the cruise company had no control over the weather, so we can't blame them. Although, I did not order one, the drinks appeared to be reasonably priced - $3 for a well drink (I think) plus tip. Treat yourself and take this extremely low-priced excursion. The cruise takes about one hour and fifteen minutes or so, and is well worth its cheap price. But be aware that (at least in April) the last cruise leaves the dock at 4:30PM
