“Absolutely Outstanding - We've found our favorite hotel in Vegas”
Reviewed December 3, 2010

Our flight from New York came a bit early and they allowed us to check in at 1:00 instead of 3:00, a big plus after a 5 hour flight. We really appreciated the courtesy and professionalism of the staff, they were friendly and accommodating without being overly so in a phony way. The room had extremely comfortable beds, a nice size bathroom, and a great 42 inch LCD. The pool area was still under renovation, but it when it's complete it should be outstanding - lots of space but no so big you can't maneuver around it. The casino is light airy and the slots are not overly stingy, a fact my pocketbook appreciated, also drinks service was outstanding. I like the fact the hotel is not overly big and impersonal like some of other hotels on the strip. I think they're trying to go for a "boutique hotel" feel and they are wildly succeeding at it. The new Trop is now our first choice when we head out to Vegas. Chic, stylish, and the crowd is a cut above the hordes of masses at the other strip hotels.

We stayed in the Paradise Tower. The rooms have recently been remodeled, the beds were among the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel. The whole hotel in bright and sunny - which is not the norm for most of the Vegas Hotels. This hotel, by Las Vegas standards, is mid-sized, so you do not have to deal with enormous crowds just to get through the casino. It is very well located - walking distance from four or five other major hotels and casinos, in case you get bored and need a change of scenery. Nightly room rate was among the lowest we found, so this was also a great value.

Stayed there Thanksgiving week. Everything from reservations, checkin, room, casino, and checkout all first class. Of course I wish we would of came home with more money but we all had a great time. They really know how to treat you like a guest vs a ATM machine at the other casinos. Can't wait to go back and will be staying at the Trop.

Stayed there Thanksgiving night, had our room upgraded to a suite. It was great. Clean room, most comfortable I have slept in. Great view of the strip . Clean bathroom with a huge tub. Staff very friendly, from the doorman to the person behind the desk. Everyone stopped and talked to us. Our friends stayed at the Luxor during this time and loved our room , said wished they would have known it was this nice. I will stay there on my next trip to Vegas. Only complaint I had was the blinds ...they didnt keep out the sun in the morning.

pros: room was spacious and clean; triple-sheet pillow top comfy bed; ipod/iphone-connectible alarm clock/raido; big bathroom and bathtub/shower; 24 hr cafe with decent selection (same menu as room service but no service/gratuity charge); short overpass walkways to Luxor and MGM; casino is clean and bright and comfortable and not overwhelming

cons: rooms are a bit of a walk through hotel/casino but not too inconvenient; 'resort fee' charge even though pool/spa are seasonal (probably awesome in the summer); no coffee maker or complimentary coffee ($4 in cafe); spot lights outside window at night (closed shades helped)

Thank you for your review. I apologize if there was any confusion over the resort fee. The resort fee covers use of the pool, hot tub (open in winter), fitness center, WiFi as well as certain business center privileges and printing of your boarding pass. I am glad that over all you seemed to have a great stay and hope to see you on your next visit. -Nicole Marshall nmarshall@troplv.com

This was a last minute decision and we stayed for 2 nights.
Some idiot knocked at all the doors after 3 a.m. and again around 4 a.m.
our room was on the 18th floor in the last tower - no view, - a very small window, no real daylight in the room, some renovated areas, very small bathroom, the hinges to the bath
room are rotten, the carpet infront of the sink (next to the bathroom) was stained all over.
The good stuff, very reasonable priced, but watch out for the daily RESORT FEE!
The large pool was closed for renovation and 1/3 of the casino was blocked for constrcutions (a week prior to Thanksgiving!). Instead of a breakfast buffet the only offered Brunch (on a Monday!) just to make it more expensive. After we finished our breakfast they added cakes and other sweets to the buffet.
The good: Elevator rides to the top are included, great views.

Thank you for your review and please accept my apologies that your entire stay did not meet your expectations. It sounds like your room was not properly cleaned prior to your check in, as we would have never let a renovated room be rented with the new carpet stained or issues with the door hinges. We will look into this matter ASAP. I also apologize over any confusion with the resort fee. This fee includes hot tub access, fitness center access, pool access (seasonal), WiFi and certain business center privileges. WiFi alone used to be $12.99 per day.

I am happy to let you know that this Friday, Café Nikki opens and will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner as well as have a boutique buffet feature. Nicole Marshall nmarshall@troplv.com

As hotels go in Vegas, the Trop has really turned itself around. Rooms are modern and updated, no overpowering smells of smoke or air fresheners, very comfortable beds, and proximity to other fun places make this a good choice for a fun weekend trip.
