Our first trip to Vegas and this hotel was superb. Arrived early in the morning and were checked into our room straight away. Rooms spacious and clean and the beds soooo comfortable. Located at the south end of the strip with perfect access. Casino entrance is light as opposed to a lot of the other casinos which are very dark so always nice to come 'home' to. Highly recommend.

We have been to LV many times over the past 15 years and this was our first stay at the Tropicana and we really, really liked it. We found the location to work fine for us, we had a car and drove any where that we needed to go. We liked the fact that the place is not as large as some of the other hotels/casinos, much easier to get around. The construction did not bother us and we look forward to going back to see everything when it is done. Good food, drinks, great pool area and everything was kept neat and clean.

We Got a great price staying here during a trade show. We stayed in the Island Tower on the 6th floor...We could see from construction material that they are still working on that section but we never saw or heard any constuction activity. The room was very nice as was the bath area..it was clean and spotless. I really liked the beds and bedding, the only problem we had sleeping was that the blinds on the windows still let a lot of light in even when closed.Everyone was helpful and seemed proud of the remodel, As the bellman said " Everything is new even our uniforms. The other factor that kept this from being a great stay in vegas was the location .it is located at the far end of the strip and with the trolly not running it means a LOT of walking or taking a taxi ( even the Monorail
is a long walk to get to. If this hotel was the same rate as say the flamingo I fould rather stay in a more central location.

Thank you for your review. I apologize that the shutters did not block out all the light needed. In order to block out the most light, please ensure that the shutters are pointed upwards and run your hands over them to ensure they are closed all the way. I also apologize if you found out location too far for your needs. We are on the South end of the Strip and we do have a bus that picks up every 15 minutes right in front on Las Vegas Blvd and the closest monorail station is right across the street at MGM. On your next visit, it would be my pleasure to personally assist you in finding your transportation. Nicole Marshall nmarshall@troplv.com

Stayed 2 nights and I think the title says it all. Intend to put in a formal complaint, not worth the money I paid and certainly not the resort fee, I mean who charges a resort fee for a resort that is half finished and not fully usable and is dirty! Too many items to list that were wrong however on the plus side the room was excellent although on the first night we were totally locked in and couldn't get the door open for a good 10 minutes. Had to call family in another room and slide the key under the door for them to open it from the outside to get us out. Not good if there was a fire!!! Told reception on checkout we would be putting our complaint in writing as we still had another 5 days of our holiday left in another location and had no intention of letting this experience spoil it for us. Won't ever stay here again, which is a shame as we intend to visit more often and most certainly would have passed business on.

Thank you for your review and I apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations. The resort fee covers such amenities as the pool, 24 hours jacuzzi, fitness center, certain business center privileges, etc. I also apologize for the lock issues and can assure you that issue has been corrected. I hope you can consider this an isolated incident and not our intended levels of service. I look forward to personally taking care of you on your next visit. Nicole Marshall nmarshall@troplv.com

Stayed at the Tropicana for 2 nights with a friend. Although I didn't make much use of the services, I found the check-in ladies to be very friendly (and it's kind of cute that everyone signs in at the "VIP" desk). The rooms were great, very roomy, brand new, and spotlessly clean. My only gripe is that a big reason for having booked this hotel was for the pool, after reading many good reviews about it. Unfortunately, after having spent most of the night (and morning) gambling at the casino downstairs (the roulette gaming staff were great fun, and having $5 roulette tables probably made me end up spending a lot more than I would have at a $10 table :) ), and having a late lunch, my friend and I got suited up in our swimming gear, went to the pool, only to find out it closes at 6pm. This probably suits the older clientele that the Tropicana attracts (we were one of the few people under 50!), but for us it was a major let down. All in all though, the place was great. I'd like to see where the Tropicana heads with their new "changing everything" direction.. I purposefully chose not to go to one of the more "party" casinos, because I wasn't really interested in hanging out with "the beautiful people" and the associated posturing, but likewise I found the Tropicana a bit too much of a retirement home. If the Tropicana swung just a bit more to the younger crowd (more bars, much longer pool hours etc), I'd be back there in a flash, otherwise I'd probably try somewhere else and compare.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I am glad that you had a great check in experience. We do ensure that every guest that booked with us directly gets VIP check in to start their experience off right. I apologize the pool hours and crowd did not meet your expectations. Next year when Nikki Beach is open, the hours you can experience the pool will be much longer and the crowd different as well. We will redefine the Las Vegas pool scene! By next season, we will have new restaurants, bars, entertainment, race and sportsbook and a night club that I think will more than meet your expectations and I look forward to assisting you with your next stay. Honestly, I had an excellent experience here. Not the place it used to be, really improved with crisp and luxurious rooms. The staff is excited to help, and very eager. A nice moderately-sized place as well, nothing intimidating about it. The location (very central) is perfect, easy walking distance or tram distance to other places on the strip. The pool is nice sized and not too crowded, with great mature trees and landscaping....gives it a garden feel compared with some of the concrete pools I have experienced in Vegas. The food was much better than my expecations, and in the top 25% of meals I have had at any restaurant in any town. I strongly recommend this place and that you give it a try, a good value and a fresh perspective.

I have been reading reviews of the Tropicana on TripAdvisor and wanted to post a review but did not think I could do it without actually having been at the Tropicana. Then I noticed Ms Marshall's email address on many reviews, so I wrote to her. I am booked in April, 2011. I just wanted to tell someone, anyone..that the people taking reservations have been the NICEST staff members I have dealt with over the phone. I called a number of hotels for information during April, I am going for a special poker tourney and the reservation staff at the Trop were actually exciting to talk to! I made my reservation with Julie just yesterday and believe me when I say, she is a wonderful addition to the Tropicana staff. She praised the hotel and made me so excited about going there that I can hardly wait! I also had many questions and she answered all of them. I can just imagine she answers her calls with a smile. I wrote Ms Marshall just today to compliment Julie and received a reply within about an hour! A REAL reply not an automated "when we get to it" reply. I am anxious to go, looks like I am booked in the Paradise Tower and if other staff members are as nice and these two ladies I KNOW we will have a wonder time! I will post again after the trip. For now I am rating this hotel as Excellent just because of the great staff! I am sorry I can't at this time fill in the rest of the ratings but will as soon as I return.
