I stayed at the Tropicana for 3 days. My room was clean quiet and everything worked. I had a great meal at Bacio and my server Pavllo and busboy Glenn were very attentive and professional. I highly recommend it for the money. Good value

We spent one night in the newly remodeled Club Tower section of this hotel. The good: The room was clean and quiet, and the bed was comfortable. There are several elevators, and they’re fast! There’s a Starbucks in the lobby just off the elevator. The bad: The plantation shutters on the windows are lovely but they don’t filter the early morning sunlight. The shower head is mounted too low for most average height people. There was no coffee maker in the room. Overall, our experience was acceptable but nothing extraordinary.

Room Tip: Club Tower is newly remodeled, so ask for a room in that section.

Stayed here on a mid-week mini-vacation with a buddy; was comped the room, plus I have Diamond status.

First, I must say it's improved a lot since the last time I was here (~'10 or so). Definitely remodeled.

Check-in was easy with courteous staff. Room was clean and relatively large (2 queen beds). Wifi worked and was reasonably fast. Casino was convenient, and location was very convenient...we bussed to and from the airport ($2 WAX) and took the monorail to the north end for a steak.

Bed was comfy. Shower...worked, but was obviously quite old.

The room had an eastern exposure, so light streaming in woke me up. The shutters were not fully light-proof...I'd advise installing curtains. The Diamond lunge was not much to write home about; just water, coffee, and some nuts/pretzels. The lounge staff were helpful in trying to find me a mini-USB cable...brought out a box of chargers for me.

We did not pay a resort fee or anything, but I cannot imagine $20 is worth it in any way, shape, or form. Our Diamond breakfast was a selection of pastries from the deli case; my buddy was underwhelmed.

Bottom line, I'd definitely stay again on a comp, but if in town for work, I'd probably stay at one of the Hilton Grand Vacations properties. The location is the best thing about the hotel (since MGM's abit procey, and Excalibur is a dump).

Room Tip: Try to avoid one with an eastern view...too sunny in the morning.

This is an ok Vegas hotel, not luxurious but clean. The pool is too noisy. The gym could be larger and have longer hours. The restaurants are ok. The service was good. The hotel is not centrally located on the strip.

Our room was fine in the Tower section. We didn't want the Paradise tower because of the noise of the strip. People booking the Tropicana need to be aware that they charge a resort fee that amounts to about $22/night including tax. The only thing you get is Wi Fi and use of the fitness center. We couldn't even get the Wi Fi to work because it was too slow. The Tropicana did agree to not charge the resort fee because of the Wi Fi problems. I'm not sure if other hotels on the strip charge resort fees, but It just seems to me that a hotel should just add the resort fees to the nightly charge if you aren't getting anything above what is usual at a motel.

We stayed at the Tropicana in Las Vegas for a meeting. We stayed their because of convenience and were told it had been remolded. I have three minimal expectations from any hotel. They are a clean room, a good shower and a good bed. Every thing else is a bonus. In this case the room was dirty with stains on the carpet and furniture and the shower only got to lukewarm. The bed was acceptable. We left after two nights. After first being told we would be charged an additional $50 to leave early the hotel staff, after finding out our problems, did not charge us that fee.

When booking my room on they're website, they offered upgrade choices,$ 30.00 each for either early check in, late checkout or higher floor. I didn't take them. When I attempted to check in at 1:00 pm I couldn't find a check in line. Not many people there so I found an empty line and asked where check in line was. I was told that check in didn't start till 3:pm but for
$20.00 he could give me a room now. When I protested I was told that was a general practice on the strip. I knew that was a lie since I had just stayed at 2 other hotels.I paid the $20.00 because I didn't want to stand there 2 more hours. I was not given the handicapped room I had booked, and the room I was given had a problem with the bathtub as the maintenance man showed up shortly after I did. The maintenance man listened to my problem and got my room changed and my $20.00 back .Thanks much to him But I'll never go back

Room Tip: use a different hotel
