Tropicana Las Vegas - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Ranked #96 of 263 Hotels in Las Vegas

Hilton owns this place now and it shows. The Trop was getting pretty run down. Hilton has repainted and cleaned it up so that it is much much nicer than a year ago. They have hired more folks and the experience is so much better. If you think "dump" when you think "Tropicana" then you should give it another try. Hilton has changed the game here. It's not luxury - not even close. But it is above average and clean - on the strip and cheaper than many options that cost more. Hilton needs to have more front desk clerks so that the check-in line moves faster - other than that it's not a bad choice.

Arrived as a Hilton Honors guest. Check in was speedy, lobby was nice and clean, rooms were clean, guiet on the 20th floor, pools were clean, food was great, dinner and breakfast. Casino was clean and not smoky at all, loved it. Will stay again!

The hotel is light and spacious inside, rooms are very clean and staff friendly. The only downside for us was the music around the pool was clubbing music, it would have been nice to have a range of different music played.

Selected the hotel because I am a Hilton Hhonors member and was pleasantly surprised. My stay was everything you expect in a Hilton property with the added bonus of being right on the strip in the middle of it all. The hotel has a bright, sunny interior unlike some casinos which feel like a dungeon. Great pool for both couples and families. Good mix of both casino and resort.

Spent 4 nights at the Tropicana from Aug 19-23. From the moment we walked in we were surprised at the overall cleanliness of the property. Checked in at noon and it was a fairly smooth process, although we did have to wait a couple of hours until our room was ready. The room itself although not large, was clean and surprisingly did not smell of smoke. What I really liked was the quiet; we stayed in the club tower and unlike other hotels, you do not hear loud noises coming from the hallways at night. The casino is small but well laid out, and all table staff are extremely friendly, inviting you to come play, or just offering a friendly greeting. I was unclear on the rules of craps and one of the staff spent the better part of 20 minutes explaining the rules, as another guest was rolling the dice. The pool is a good size and well laid out with plenty of lounge chairs and also very clean.

The restaurants although not plentiful were pretty good, and the pricing was decent as well.

All in all I was very satisfied with my stay at the Tropicana and plan to stay there again in the future.

If you like lounging by the pool or swimming, this is the hotel for you. It has the largest pool area of all the hotels in Las Vegas but what we liked best was the bright interior. Unlike most Las Vegas hotels, it was well lit with clean white walls. This made it different and it felt sanitised and secure.
The lobbies and exterior of other hotels nearby are more spectacular but first impressions of them will fade after some time. You can enjoy the facilities of these other hotels anyway by visiting them at any time which is done by most Las vegas visitors. The extra price you have to pay to sleep in them, in my view, is not worth the cost.
The rooms were of the same size as most Las Vegas hotels and comfortable without being cluttered by too many 'extras'.
I noticed the air crew of a well known airline using this hotel so they must favour this hotel too as good value for money at least.

Room Tip: Impossible to completely blot all the noise from the Strip in any hotel on the Strip but unless you...
