Tropicana Las Vegas - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Ranked #100 of 264 Hotels in Las Vegas
Reviewed March 8, 2013

recently stayed at the Tropicana Las Vegas- they were in the process of a major remodel project last time we were there, so we decided to go back to check it out. What a difference. It looks nothing like it used to. Everything is new, and painted all white so it has a South Beach feel to it.. Rooms were all new, nicely decorated with white wood shutters instead of traditional curtains. The mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on. We inquired about the brand, and the concierge told us they get so many people who love the bed that they actually have a program where you can purchase the mattress thru Tropicana.
Cocktail service was hit or miss at first , but got better. The pool area has also been redone, it is pretty nice now, have private cabanas for rent.
Great location, walking distance to pretty much all the other major hotels. Valet service quick and easy.
Would def. stay again.

Room Tip: They have 2 towers, the one that sits further back off the strip makes for a very long walk across a...

We enjoyed our room here at the Tropicana. In town for their Superbowl party. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants but did have a slice of pizza at the food court. The casino is extremely small. We actually walked over to New York New York and the MGM daily to gamble. Our favorite part of the hotel was the MOB attraction. It was pricey...$70 for 2 people but I guess everything in Vegas is pricey. Would not stay here again but only because of the size of the casino. The rooms were great!

The hotel is located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip and provides a good value in relation with the cost. The lobby and casino are fine, in line with the expectations. The room was nice and well furnished, even if there were some minor issues in managing the temperature; it was located in a building nearby the main one, offering a nice view of the strip. The hotel is generally well-maintained; a small food court is located inside the main building, even if offering a limited choice. A garage, self-service parking is complimentary and close to the main lobby; a valet service is also available. The staff was helpful and friendly, even if at the check-in I was overcharged with the resort fee, promptly returned at the check-out.

I had a great experience with the Tropicana this year.
Service was very professional, fast, and courteous. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. The location was perfect for my conference. And i can not wait to try the pool services out this summer. The remodel made this hotel shine again.

We choose the Tropicana for its location and perceived value for money compared to most of the more upscale Strip hotels. Reception is funky but the funkiness stops there. The rooms are huge and clean, but very tired. The noise was also a problem for us - I don't think the inter-connecting rooms and the external windows are sufficiently sound-proofed, so we were disturbed by building work outside, and by our neighbours who were just having a normal conversation.

On the plus side, the staff were all very friendly and helpful; and the massage I had in the Glow Spa was fabulous!

The room was very comfortable and very clean and so was the bathroom. Very good value, the staff were friendly and helpful. The casino was nice and not too busy. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were great. Would definitely consider staying there again.
