So we generally dont stay in nice hotels. But this one was great.
We moved here after one night in another hotel that was not so grand.
Positives: Nice, stylish rooms (i think they are newly remodeled), great bed, great view of the strip, friendly staff, fast service.
Negatives: There is not cheap food nearby...one must cross over to New York New York to get a bagel and coffee or walk down the strip to find snack stuff. There is a small convenience store downstairs, but it is really just chips and soda type stuff.

We stayed at the Tropicana from the 12th - 19th April. This was our first time in Vegas & I spent hours & hours on trip advisor trying to decide where to stay. A combination of good reviews & good price led us to booking theTrop & I am so glad we did!

We arrived at 9pm after a 10 1/2hour flight. There was no queue at check in & we were seen straight away by a lovely, friendly lady. We had booked via a booking agency & I was a bit worried that we would either not be on their system or we would be given the shoe closet to sleep in! There were no problems at all & we were soon on our way up to our room on the 16th floor in the Paradise Tower. Having read some of the reviews I expected a long slog to get there but we were there in minutes - it really isn't a long way at all.

The room was bright, clean & spacious. The bed was heavenly! Ipod dock/radio brilliant. Safe was easy to use. WiFi fast & easy to connect to.

We had the breakfast buffet twice at Cafe Nikki. The first time it was lovely & the waitress was great. The second time on our last day was not so. We waited for a table for 10 minutes & then was shown to a table outside on a high table over looking the pool. There was renovations taking place inside which had reduced the number of indoor tables. If we had been told that at the beginning we would not have bothered. The waiter, Brian, was not exhibiting the high standard of service we had come to expect there. I gave up trying to get a second drink or even a spoon to stir my 1st one!

Cafe Nikki happy hour was a great success though - 4pm-7pm. Fab Mojitos $5 Beer $3! YUM!

We loved the location, the rooms, the slots & the friendly but not too over the top staff.

There was construction work going on while we were there but we didn't hear anything at all. The only disturbance was in the resturant on the last day as previously mentioned.

Great things we did while we were there:
Love at The Mirage (Mesmerising!)
The Gun Store (Terrifying at first but we had THE BEST Range Master - Brian - a legend!)
Hash House A Go Go (HUGE portions!)
BLT Burger at The Mirage ( YUM)
Gospel Brunch at Mandeley Bay (Great food & a whole lot of soul!)
Outlet Shopping Centre (Leave room in your case for lots of bargains.)
Freemont Street Experience (Fun old school style!)
Not so Great
BB Kings Blues Club (Food OK & Fab band but no prices for drinks on the menu & bloody hell that was a dear night!)
Drink prices at the House of Blues ($11 for bud light! A cheap but dry night!)

I could go on & on but in short - We loved our stay at the Tropicana. I wish I was back there now! I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The staff was very friendly and tried hard but were uninformed as to the goings on at the resort, especially regarding advertised specials in the lounges and restaurants. The rooms were fresh and clean but amenities were sparse.

I am an event planner so most of my experience involved a meeting we had at the Tropicana. This is the second event we've had and both times it went off without a hitch. The service and food was fantastic. The meeting space is wonderful...not a complaint to be had. Susan Chavez and Martha Cornwall were great to work with.

With regards to the rooms, I've stayed twice at the island tower. They are big, comfortable and brand new. One of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in...Only issue I had this last time was construction. They start rather early and our room faced where they were working so that was unfortunate. Otherwise I'd gladly stay there over and over. They added more food courts and restaurants and its tough to choose which one to go to... they are all FABULOUS!!!

I recently stayed at the Trop for my Bachelorette party and had a really great time! We had a few bumps upon check in but when all was said and done I was in a great room with an amazing view! The hotel is located towards the end of the strip so if you are looking for the insanity of being right in the center of things this is not the place for you however if you want downtime in a nice quiet local and don't mind a short walk to the hubbub this is it! We were lucky enough to get a really nice day which we spent by the pool which was beautiful! If you decide to get drinks by the pool (and how could you not) make sure you get Krista as your server. She is super attentive and will make sure you never get parched! The only downside to my stay was that it didn't seem like our bathroom floor was ever mopped, that is kinda gross but other than that I would recommend staying here.

Room tip: 19th floor Luxor view
