We stayed two nights using 2 rooms booked through Hotwire. Rooms are large and the enitre hotel is bright and cheery. We stayed in the Island tower which was located at the back of the property which meant a longish walk from the front desk area. All rooms have been redone very tastefully, noise was minimal - we looked out over the take off strip for the airport (at a distance) and did not find it noisy at all. seems all ages book here. we found all staff to be super friendly and very polite. Loved the swimming area. If you wish, you can book (for a fee) your own cabana poolside. cafe Nikki was great - well presented breakfast - we ordered off the menu which was reasonably priced. the hotel is located just across the street to the south of the MGM and there is a connecting over the road walk and escalator that makes it easy to start your walk down the strip. even the casino was well lit and the card dealers were happy to explain how the game works - very patient! we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for two nights during Spring break. We don't gamble but wanted to see a couple of shows and ride the Stratosphere tower rides. The Tropicana is in process of remodeling but it doesn't impact your experience. Of course it is a casino so it is not really a "family friendly" place (our teenagers handled it OK but were a little awestruck at first). They try to mask cigarette odor but it's still present in common areas. The pool area is beautiful. They are in the process of doubling the size of the pool area. It will be very impressive when done. We ate at one of the restaurants...Good but on the pricey side. Gone are the days of cheap food in Vegas. Hey, nothing is cheap here....you go to Vegas to lose money, right? If I was coming to Vegas I would stay here again.

We were very pleased with our entire stay at the Tropicana. Barbara checked us in and was genuinely nice and helpful in finding us a great room. Our 2 favourite staff members were Leigh and Robert who were both dealers. We had so much fun with them one particular night as well as the pit boss Arthur. The room was clean and nicely renovated as we have seen old pics of the place. All staff we encountered on our travles through the hotel always smiled and said hello. Big thanks to Brian , the Security supervisor who found my clothes I left in our first room as we moved to another to be in a smoking room.We only ate once, room service from Cafe Niki, which was very expensive but I do know they have a small food court coming soon. We ate next door at MGM and Excalibur every day as they had many feasable options for food. We would definitely stay again at the Tropicana

I want it clear that this is not a 5 Diamond property but simply needs at least another star added on. Here we go......First off at check in, we were in one of the shortest Que lines ever at vegas and were treated so good by the check in staff especially KIMBERLEE EDWARDS-WARD. She filled us in on all the great changes and things to see. Our Suite was in the ISLAND Tower with an outstanding view of other casinos. We paid extra for an upgraded room at a absolutely fair price at the help of another great Trop-staff member Nicole Marshall. Our room was on the 20th floor and it was great. Like others before me stated, the beds are to die for. We did everything at the hotel to do and enjoyed two of the shows offered. Do Brad Garrets Comedy Show and we loved Recycled Percussion as well. Not to be missed is their MOB EXPERIENCE...loved it and you could spend 4 hours in that place and not read or do it all. We loved eating at the Biscayne and do their four-course dinner and wine special...simply a great dining experience. We also ate at their other two places called Cafe Nikki and Bacio pasta and vino...but don't miss out on the dinner at The Biscayne steak*sea*wine for Dinner Dining. The pool is wonderful but the drinks were high at pool side. Everytime my wife and I came back to the tropicana after time out, it was like walking back into Paradise. It was busy, busy, busy due to spring break but the hotel remained clean and great to stroll around, and lets not forget gambling was nice as well under their glass mosaic canopy overhead. The grounds are great and only going to get better with all the new things going in. THANKS TROPICANA FOR A GREAT 5 DAYS OF FUN.....

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the Island Tower.....

I thought that the hotel was great and all the staff were courteous at all times
The restraints were good and the food was excellent
The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very helpful
The only problem we had was at the bridal and tux shop the lady there was down right rude and the service was terrible she measured me twice and still did not get the jacket right, not only that but I did not get my suite till hours before the wedding and when I put my hand in the pocket there was a tissue in my jacket as there was no one at the store to complain to at five o'clock even though there sign said they were open till six
I was forced to wear it.
when my son in law went to get fitted for the third time she said he was so big he was almost impossible to fit ans asked his mother if he was a big baby not in a nice manner after all of that the day of the wedding my son in laws suit still was not right and he was forced to go to the tux shop up the strip where they took the original measurements that he had sent down weeks before and they fitted him in about twenty minutes and that is the suit he wore at his wedding and we checked three other places and they were all around $65 accept at your shop
She also did not want to take credit cards for the bill and tried to get us to pay cash for everything in fact I did give her cash $145 when she had quoted us $125 when my daughter complained she returned $20 to both my son and I
we wasted almost two hole days running back and forth from the hotel to the shop and could not get anywhere as we were forced to return to check on our suits
This lady is not only unprofessional but incompetent to say the least and had my daughter and indeed the whole wedding party upset and ruined two whole days of our trip

I was at the Tropicana the weekend of March 26th. I was there attending my best friends wedding. It was a wonderful time. The reception hall was beautiful and great. Later that night, I had lost my iPhone. I did not realize this until I got back to my room. Later that morning, I had called the front desk hoping by change it would have been returned. To my surprise, it was. A staff at the Tropicana by the name of Lewis took my phone to the lost and found. I was absolutely amazed at the honest and integrity of this individual. This just made my trip 10x's better. Lewis, you're awesome! You have done an amazingly kind thing, and I thank you very much. Tell your bosses you need a RAISE! I will be coming back to this hotel because of the respect they give to their customers. A++ :)

We have just returned from four days at the newly refurbished Tropicana. We were very impressed. The location of this hotel is on the corner of MGM, New York, New York and Excaliber. It was easy to get around on the monorail to the other hotels from the MGM or use taxis.
The room itself was clean and large. The hotel levies a room charge of $10 for internet, gym and service but we needed to use these so was happy to have this. The bed was the best I have slept in in a long time. Room service, if you need it is prompt and all the staff are friendly and helpful.
The cost was very reasonable too - less than £100 for three nights and they allowed a late checkout because of our flight. They were fully booked when we were there so you may need to be prebook to get a room.
The pool complex was still undergoing restoration and the casino was not as classy as some of the other hotels, but a very good comfortable hotel at a great price. Would not hesitate to recommend.
