“Fantastic choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2007

We stayed at the Monte Carlo for a week in December 2006 and loved every minute of it. We had a problem with our booking (problem with the agent, not the hotel) and the staff at the front counter were great. They were very accommodating and made sure we had a strip view room, which was good although not exactly what we had expected (the view looked more over the Monte Carlo casino roof than anything else).

The hotel itself is lovely and we liked the fact that it wasn't as busy or bustling as the other hotels along the strip. The room was huge and the decor was beautiful - lovely king sized bed, huge tv and the most enjoyable surprise was having a big fluffy bath mat at the shower, instead of the usual paper thin towels most hotels give you.

The location was perfect, being at one end of the strip allows you to stroll up one side, then get the monorail back to the hotel, if you can't walk all the way back. It's next door to a CVS, so it's convenient to head out at any hour for snacks etc. There are plenty of restaurants and bars on-site which serve really nice food at reasonable prices. The buffet wasn't open during our stay, it was undergoing renovations at the time so we went for the Buffet at the Bellagio, which is definitely worth the trip.

The pool was also closed for annual maintenance, but that's to be expected, given we were there during winter. The only problem we encountered was that we arrived by bus, following a few days in Anaheim. The bus ride was only 3.5 hours and was quite enjoyable, the only problem was that there are only 3 drop off points along the strip, with the Luxor being the closest drop off to the Monte Carlo - so we were forced to walk the 3 blocks to the Monte Carlo with our luggage, and those blocks were a pretty long walk!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Monte Carlo and have recommended it to many of our friends who will be travelling to the USA this year. We would definitely stay there again.

We normally stay at the Monte Carlo property every time we visit LV. The quality of this hotel for the price is unbeatable in my opinion.
There is one flaw to this hotel now a days that is no fault of their own...the construction of a new resort next door. If your room is facing any area of the construction (even on the 25th floor) you will
hear construction noise. Request a room facing the NY/NY hotel for some peace and quiet!

Check in was smooth and quick. Our room was not ready at check in but
we were able to store our bags with the bell service. Our room key worked directly upon check in so if you'd like you can put your bags in your room and for go the bell service. Which by the way was very prompt (within 5 minutes after making the call to bring the bags up).

The Brew Pub is a great dining value on the strip for pub fare. Casino still offers $5 tables during the day and some evenings.

We stayed at the MC for 2 nights in March 2007. Overall we had a nice stay , the Hotel is pretty laid back not real Exciting which is Ok with us . The room was clean and had a great shower ( big sprayer head ) We were on the 13th floor and overlooked the construction the noise was not bad at all . We only ate at the Buffett which i found pretty basic and food Items were not very hot but then it was about 8:15 pm when we got to the Buffett .
The walls are pretty thin in the rooms on our last day we had people in the next room and we could here them clearly even though they were not talking loud or yelling .
We did have a pretty good rate and I would probably stay there again if I got another good rate .

TOO MANY KIDS!!! That was the biggest problem with this hotel. Monte Carlo has a nice pool area, but you could not enjoy it for all the kids jumping and splashing. Forget tring to use the hot tub. I actual saw kids on the casino floor standing by there parents who were playing slots.

Also, they had no late nite dining, except for a food court. The diner was closed for remodling, so you had to walk to NYNY(that was closest) to eat anything great. They made no attempt to open another restaurat to fix the problem. Great micro brewery, though. We enjoyed that. Good casino floor. Did well at the slots.

Rooms were ok. Mine was not clean upon checkin but the staff came within minutes of my call and took care of the room. Checkin and cleaning staff were very nice and helpful.

Overall, stay was ok. Would I stay there again ? Probably not. Vegas is no place for kids. But if you feel you have to bring yours, this is the place for you.

I wouldn't risk booking a room here until the construction next door is complete. The contstrcution is just beginning, so it's going to be months before it ends.

The hotel is fine. It's clean and comfortable. But the construction noise is unbearable. We were on the 23rd floor and we could clearly hear the jackhammer that ran incessantly. Not only that -- it starts at 3:30 a.m.! It woke me up in the middle of the night and kept me up for hours. Definitely not a relaxing trip. With so many other options, don't bother torturing yourself with a stay at this hotel.

The MC was in a great location. The grounds were well kept, and the room was always clean. The hotel is not as themed or as busy as others, so it was nice and relaxing to come back to. The food court was great for us since we were not looking to spend much on food. The only issue we had was the lack of waitresses on the casino floor. It took quite a while to get a drink, but hey, they're free! Anyway, if you are looking for a clean, beautiful, and classy hotel to relax at after a long day of walking, the MC is the place for you.

There are no drinking fountains in this entire many thousand room hotel. You are forced to beg at a bar or buy water and contribute to the waste stream with your plastic bottle.
