My husband and I stayed at Monte Carlo for 3 nights. It's a great location and accessible to every place you want to see. It's close to almost everything. The rooms are nice, clean and the bed is very confortable and perfect for when you come back in the morning tired after so much walking or party. Quick chek in, the staff was great. Don't forget to make the M card that you use it when you play in all the casinos cause you get reward points. We would come back there anytime.

What was once a magnificent upmarket Hotel is now sadly on the wain. Having not been to Las Vegas for four years I forgot how quickly the place changes. We booked what we thought was a special deal that included upgraded 'strip view'. Although, yes indeed, the room did give you a view of the strip it was just directly in front as the new and huge Aria built right next door has killed off any real view of the strip for good.

It all feels a bit tacky and dissapointed in itself. We tried sitting outside in the 'Pub' but after 20 mins of no one appearing to serve us we upped and left and sought refreshemtns elsewhere. Two mornings running we attempted to get coffee from the inhouse Stabucks but on seeing queues of upwards of 20 people wating both days we decided against it and instead walked just a few yards down the road to the one at the New York New York Hotel.

So far on my travels to Vegas I have stayed at the Mirage, Treasure Island, Excalibur and now the Monte Carlo. Sad to say the Monte Carlo was the most dissapointing one.

The only negative was with the check in.
The staff member was very sarcastic. She asked us if we wanted to pay the additional resort fee so that we could use more of the amemities, and when we said we weren't staying long enough to use them she told us the fee was mandatory.

Room Tip: Room was great. Had everything we needed for our short stay.

Dear Elaine P,

Happy Easter! Although we are happy that you only encountered one troubling area during your enjoyable stay, it is unfortunate to hear such atypical comments about our Front Desk practices. Our staff certainly always wants to explain what amenities are provided and offered from our Resort Fee, but we apologize for any miscommunication about whether it is a standard cost. Fortunately, this daily fee only enhances the value in staying with us at Monte Carlo and we truly hope this uncharacteristic interaction does not keep you from choosing our resort again in the future.

Sincerely,

Best valet on the strip. We have stayed here many times it is the best value on the strip. There is a tram to Bellagio and Aria. Plus you can access this property from Frank Sinatra Drive so you do not have to deal with the Las Vegas strip traffic.

I would like to say the staff is outstanding, they all make an effort to say hello and have a great energy about them. The casino staff is also great, they make you feel welcome and seem to be happy about working there. Great overall stay and will stay again!

My friend and I stayed at the monte carlo for three nights. We arrived (after a hard day shopping at the north outlet mall) around 10:00pm. A quick check in, hassle free. Our stay was quiet and the beds were comfy. And the room was clean. Lots of pools to choose from including a river pool if you wanted you chill out for a while. Free wifi, but only for the first two floors or the last few floors which have it available in each room. If you are between the 2nd and 22nd floor then you will have to go down to the first or second floor to get the wifi. It's a bit of a hassle but you can work with it. The pool area also gets the free wifi. Cleanliness was okay, must have been a 'girls party' before us as there were little glittering felic symbols scattered about the floor that seemed to miss the vacuum. Not a big deal....just made us wonder what else was avoiding the vacuum.

The location is fantastic. A drug store next door, supermarket (wallgrens), Ross Dress For Less, 1/2 price ticket office all opposite and MGM diagonally opposite.

If you want to catch the express bus you have to walk a couple blocks either way, but its an easy walk and we didn't have any issues. Otherwise the normal bus stops right out front.

Something that i did find interesting was a very minor situation at the pool. It was very windy, probably close to hurricane gusts but hey, your in Vegas, its 30 plus degrees and the wind cools you down, so you sit there and hope a tree doesn't fall on you. I didn't have a tree fall on me but a bird did end up flying into the seat next to me and getting jammed in between the slats. It was dead by the time i noticed it. So i waved down a couple of staff members that was walking past me at the time. I showed them the bird......it was preventing me from stretching out and allowing me to make myself at home because my head was right next to this dead bird. Anyway, they came back a few minutes later and said they had to report it to their superiors and get them to deal with it. What?? Oh, protocol. Hmm, didn't realise there was so much protocol in removing a dead bird. So a guy who was sitting across from me and saw the whole thing, jumped up and moved the chair out the way and just like that a 'protocol' problem was no longer a problem for me. I could have done it myself, but part of my reason for being in vegas was recuperating from shoulder surgery. Soon after, management did come with gloves and back up to remove the dead bird and replace the chair back to its original position. I feel bad for the bird. It was a healthy looking specimen that seemed to get caught in a hurricane gust wind and unfortunately didn't survive to tweet its story.

The job got done, protocol at its best. :-)

We stayed at the Monte Carlo for a friend's 30th birthday. We found the check in process quite easy and the staff were friendly. There was wifi available in the reception which was useful. The room was clean with everything you would need. The location is good, right in amongst everything. We really liked the fact that its not a massive hotel. Our friends stayed at the Bellagio, and while it is a bigger name, it took them forever to get from their room to the reception due to the size of the hotel. We found the Monte Carlo to be a lot more friendly and welcoming because of its smaller size. The casino was good, and the shops and restaurants in the hotel were nice. There was a good atmosphere and we felt safe walking around at night.
