the room was basic and adequate. Location of hotel is great. Love the pool area. We enjoyed the Pub and the Noodle restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful. To go down the strip cross the street so you do not have to deal with the City center walking detours..

Great hotel, very positive experince for my first visit to Las Vegas (living in Denmark) very friendly staff in both the hotel and casino. Almost sure I'm going to stay at Monte Carlo again when I come back in 2013.

Reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive with the booking. I’m very glad I stay with my choice. The Monte Carlo is a great resort. We stayed Monday 9/17 through Friday 9/21; we had a standard room on the 28th with a view of the pool area. The room was clean. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. The pool area was fantastic. No problem finding chairs most of the week. Although on Thursday, we got down about noon and had to work to find 4 together. Only ate at Diablo’s (details in a separate review) and carry out from the Pub. The food from both was good, but not great. All in all we had a great stay at the Monte Carlo. I guess I don’t understand how some people find 1 or 2 little things off and declare a hotel a disaster. Oh well, to each his own.

The rooms were dated and although not as new or modern as some of the other MGM properties that we have stayed at previously, we were very comfortable and found that the casino was more "user friendly" and their other "mega"resorts. It was very easy to get to other resorts on the strip with the trams, either on the property or going across to the MGM Grand. Walking is also easy to the other resorts, but because of physical limitations, we found the tramsand taxis preferrable. We ate at most of the restaurants on property and although they may not have the famous "Chefs", we found the food very good and "priced right". Check in was a little bit crazy because we had arrived early as apparently many others did also, then there is a mad rush at 3 pm with long lines, but its not the end of the world and we made it through it. We made it to our rooms and our luggage was delivered promptly. We had a King room with a Strip View so we were able to enjoy the views. Again the room was comfortable but needed some updating and repairs because of cracked ceilings and older furnature and fixtures, but everything was adequate. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: request a strip view room, its woth having that view.

Beautiful hotel. Wonderful food, the steak house was outstanding. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was a little noisy, our room had an adjoining room door that we didn't use but let in sounds from the room next door. We couldn't get WiFi in our room and we didn't have a mini frig (which we missed). The pool, lazy river and wave pool were a lot of fun. Highly recommend. Would stay there again.

We stayed at The Monte Carlo for four nights as part of a trip to the US and Hawaii. Taxi from the airport was about $32.00 a little more than I was expecting. Think the driver took a detour to make it longer. The hotel is huge, if you have not visited LV before you may get a surprise at the enormity of the hotel's, they are like mini cities. Each hotel having plenty of retail outlets, and in the case of the Monte plenty of food outlets to suite most budgets and of course the casino's, again huge with plenty of opportunity to extract your hard earned cash, have fun, set a budget and don't go over it. One thing us non-smoking Brit's may find annoying is the casino's are smoking establishments, so they can get quite smelly ( sorry, I am a non smoker and hate the things).
The rooms are quite large and you get 2 very small bottles of water, 2 coffee sachet's and wired only Internet access in your room as part of your resort fee ( tip, bring a small access point if you want to use your android and I-devices) wifi is free in lobby.
Staff were all friendly with one exception in our case, we went to the pub in the hotel along with my son (21) daughter (19) he asked for ID for both, this my son had been doing all week so no problem there, we explained to the bar tender that my daughter would be drinking soft drinks only, to which he abruptly replied she needs to step away from the bar by 10 feet and I will serve you, needless to say we did not take him up on the offer and promptly left.
I don't have an issue if these are the rules in the US but it could have been handled more politely and professionally.

On the subject of the pub, drinks are quite expensive, on our second night 3 beers each (9 total) came to $96.00 about £6.60 per beer, it did have a tremendous selection of beer's though.

Location is good being fairly central on the strip so at night it is a great walk along the strip seeing everything all lit up. It is quite amazing and a good experience.

Overall not a bad choice go hotel.

Great location, easy access to all the important places. Self parking, no problem. Loved the pool.
The view from the room was not the best (air conditioning units) yet it did not bother us and there was no unpleasant noise.
Room and bathroom was clean and the staff incredibly helpful.Great to have had a coffee machine and bottled water.
I'd stay there again.
