“Affordable Luxury in Las Vegas”
Reviewed May 21, 2011

This was my husband's and my second stay and the Venetian and it's become our favorite hotel in Vegas (compared to New York, New York - which we cannot recommend and Mirage, which is also good, but not the Venetian). We feel like we are spoiling ourselves when we stay here ... suite - TV in both the sleeping and 'living' area, big bed, big bathroom - tub and shower.

Room Tip: Stay during the week to save lots of money

I stayed in the Venetian with my wife at the beginning of May 2011. We stayed in a Suite with strip view on the 27th floor.

We wanted to stay somewhere very special - but decided that the Bellagio was out of our price range. We thought that the Venetian would be the next best option. It turns out we were wrong.

The check in is vast - and you feel like an ant in a huge colony. The customer service is very impersonal - they just want to get you away from reception as soon as possible, rather than spend the time talking to you about the hotel facilities - and trying to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The suite was o.k. - but not in the league of previous hotels I've stayed in (the best of which is the Mandalay Bay). The hotel looks as though it needs a re-fit - the interiors are old and worn in places. The suite overlooked the pool - and there was a constant whine from an air conditioning plant next to it that we could hear even on the 27th Floor. You'd think the double glazing would have been better than that !

Be careful ! Don't pick up any of the bags of nuts or snacks if you don't intend to eat them, or have a look at the drinks from the mini bar - you are charged as soon as you move them. The room service has an 18% gratuity plus $4 tip built in - far too much to pay in our opinion.

Overall, if I had to choose again, I would either save some more money and book into the Bellagio - which is a clear step up from the Venetian - or save some money and book a suite somewhere like the Mirage. I guess when you've looked forward to something for so long, your expectations are high - in this case the reality did not live upto expectation.

Room Tip: Don't have one that overlooks the pool !

Staff said only room available had a pull down bed and a view of a wall, when we'd paid for upper floor and double queen.
Only after persisting did we get what we paid for.
'Breakfast' is Styrofoam cups and tiddly croissants
Old food trolleys left in hallway for upto 24hours
Safe jammed
Phone was unplugged
wish we'd stayed at THE WYNN where the buffet is SENSATIONAL

Room Tip: Stand there, ask for manager and persist

Traveling for my boyfriend's 40th birthday, I wanted something upscale and relaxing in a hotel room. You get enough craziness on the strip, I like my rooms to be quiet and posh. The suites at the Venetian are just that. Extremely large and softly decorated, it is a releif from the art-deco and modern chic that you are bombarded with in strip hotels. Check in was a breeze, we even were upgraded for no extra charge. The room was fabulous, nice linens and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge! Seperate water closets, a huge tub that was actually clean, and marble dual sinks. We stayed in the Venezia tower to take advantage of the more private pool deck. I would recommend this if you aren't crazy about large crowds at the pool. It has smaller pools, heated soaking tubs and an adjoining restraunt from which to procure cocktails. No pool service, though. The only drawback was the long walk through the hotel to get to the Venezia tower and then to the room. One night, the passage way from the tower was closed, so we had a half an hour walk back through the casino and the hotel. However, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for the Venezia side.

The Venetian Hotel is one of a kind offering a very wide range of activities! My wife and myself went here for 5 nights on our honeymoon. This was not our intended location, but due to passport situations we were unable to go to St. Lucia. We stayed in one of the 650sq ft suites and it was perfect. Included a couch, desk, king size bed, huge bathroom, 3 tvs, and more! The casino and hotel grounds seem to be kept up well as well as the shops included. The whole second floor of the hotel is flooded with shops, food, and the boat ride. Im not a big shopper but my wife loved it. Shows that are offered here were the Blue Man Ground, Phantom, and Jersey Boys. We saw Blue Man and it was fantastic! Get decently close seats because its well worth every penny! As for the negatives, we checked in and it was a non stop battle with the lady on trying to upgrade us to a bigger package, in honesty we told her no 5-6 times, then she informed us the non smoking room was taken so we settled for the smoking, but thankfully it had no scent of smoke. Another negative was there was a 18$ per night hotel fee which was not included on the booking, so I was not happy with that. The only other negative was clerks hassling you in the hallways to spend money on joining a club, they were everywhere but thats their job so I understood. Finally be prepared to spend some money on food, even casual. Burger, fries, and drink at food court 14$. Just a heads up. Overall its been a good experience.

I went with 8 girlfriends, 26 years old, and we had 2 suites at the Venetian, it was ablast- but not because of the venetian.... Upon arrival, it was PACKED with people checking in. Was charged 25 dollar hotel fee-- just for being there, which was weird.... and had some issues getting our rooms together but got it sorted out. We actually had to call back the hotel once we were back because they had made silly charges to our room.. that we ate the food there in the hotel room (opened the packaeges of candy) (but we brought our own candy from home).

Hotel has pool party TAO and restaurant which is convenient. They also have another club which is good too. If you're young, it's very convenient!

The location on the strip is great- it's in the middle of everything. Hotels around will look close, however walking is loooong. hotels are huge. but it's better staying there than anything like MGM(dooown the street- pretty far down). **But cabs are inexpensive, so even if you decide to save your money and stay somewhere cheaper, you'll still have a blast and see the beautiful Venetian hotel through a visit... don't forget to visit the gondola rides (inside) :)

Rooms are terrific. Huge, clean, very comfortable, lots of amenities. The hotel itself is way too large, poorly planned and seemingly impossible to manage. Everything is a pain in the butt to get to. Signs, when they exist, are confusing and the staff seem poorly trained. You can ask the same question of five people and get five different responses. At check in I asked not to overlook the pool. My room, on the 28th floor, overlooked three of them. Music, from Tao was blasting even that high up. I asked to be moved and they gave me a hassle even though it was their mistake! I insisted, and they finally moved me across the hall. They refused to send someone up with a new key card. I had to go all the way down and pick it up myself. Huh? The second room was quiet but one of the flat screens wasn't working. They said they'd send someone up. I waited over an hour and finally left. I'm not sure if anyone ever fixed it. The pool is a disaster. Finding a lounge chair is impossible. Don't even try. Have one of the the attendants do it for you. It's well worth the tip to not have to hassle with all the people who put stuff on a lounge and then never come back. At one point they gave out copies of a lunch menu to everyone. They said they'd be back to take orders. Two hours later no one returned. One attendant told us there were only three wait staff for the entire pool area, another told us there was only one and a third said there weren't any and you had to walk over to the restaurant yourself if you wanted to eat. Then why hand out menus? This was typical of the way the entire hotel seemed to be managed. Taking a walk, off property, was an adventure. Pack a lunch and bring your passport because it will take forever. Perhaps that was the plan. They don't want you to leave. They make it quite difficult and it gets annoying. The only bright spot were the valets. They were always courteous and professional and getting your car was relatively quick.

Room Tip: Stay at the Wynn.
