Treasure Island - TI Hotel & Casino
Ranked #74 of 263 Hotels in Las Vegas
Reviewed March 21, 2014

Treasure Island is on the North end of the strip. This was my first time at TI, second in Vegas. Last time I stayed at the MGM, which was PHENOMENAL.
TI is a little lower end to the MGM, but I still thought it was a great place! I liked the location, not completely central, but close enough to everything. (In Vegas, the resorts look a lot closer than they actually are, so unless you're at the Bellagio, Paris, PH, you're never completely central, but close enough!). I actually liked the north end of the strip better, it was quieter, calmer than the other end; the south end is SO busy, there are crowds and crowds of people, it feels a little too busy and hectic for me. TI is surrounded by a lot of the higher end 5* hotels (Palazzo, Wynn, Encore, Caesars Palace, Venetian), so definitely a beautiful place to walk around.
Stayed here with a couple girlfriends from a Thurs-Mon. We got in pretty late due to a number of delays and ended up checking in around 12:30-1am. Check in was relatively quick! I think it took us maybe 20 minutes, with probably 10-15 other groups ahead of us. Tried to get an upgrade/freebies, but no go. Oh well! We did book a stripview room, but all they had left with 2 queens was on the other side. Still had a nice view of the Encore/Wynn and Palazzo (...and the roof with AC units everywhere, but it didn't bother us much). No big deal really.
The room was well sized, big bathroom, VERY comfortable beds in my opinion.
I find the atmosphere in all vegas hotels are similar, just a sense of excitement and pure enjoyment. The casino was a little dark, and the mix of the perfumed air/smoke was a little headache inducing. It wasn't overly awful, but I did take notice of it when we stayed in the casino area for a longer period of time. I really have no other complaints.
The Pho/Coffee Shop restaurant was perfect for us after a long day walking and just needing a quick bite. The restaurant is well priced and although service is a little slow, we ate there a couple times during our stay.
Honestly, you are rarely in your room in Vegas, I don't gamble much, so we rarely even stayed in our hotel at all except to sleep and sometimes grab a bite. TI is a great hotel if you want to stay somewhere decently priced, somewhat central, and a 4*+ type hotel.

We stayed in an upper level room with a view along The Strip. The room was good and the beds were comfortable but there was supposed to be a no smoking in the rooms or corridors which wasn't adhered to.

The valets and desk staff are very efficient and helpful (particularly the Bell Desk) but the bar staff were another story.

They were very unpleasant and grumpy and the cocktails were the worst I have had. We tried to get a drink on our last night and even though none of the 4 barman were serving anyone else they wouldn't serve us. We asked one of them if we could have a drink and he muttered something and pointed to another barman. So we asked the barman he had indicated if we could have a drink and he pointed back to the original one we had asked! We waited for about 5 minutes but the barmen just kept wiping glasses and not serving us, so we left and bought two cans of drink from the onsite shop and had them in our room. Spoilt our last night and made us vow never to stay in that hotel again.
Next time we will stay in either The Venetian or The Bellagio

the room is overall clean but i found the mattress is sagging and badly dented that i had to ask the room change. I found out later on that my old room with bad mattress was given to another guest ( i was traveling with a group of friends- some of whom came 1 day later and was offered my previous room). It's inevitable that i am under the impression the hotel management just could not care less about the sagging bed, it should have been earmarked for mattress replacement instead of being offered to guests. I also found the new room door is a bit difficult to open using the magnetic card that i had to ask help from the housekeeper who happens to be around. The consolation is that the hotel gives you free buffet using coupons, at their coffee shop which turns out to be very good with impressive spread for dinner; but be forewarned that the waiting line is so long and could easily take an hour for dinner so plan accordingly (it was during peak season for the hotel, after Christmas and before new year).

Room was cramped for 4 people. Casino was half empty and yet they had $15 blackjack limits and $10 Let it Ride even when the tables were empty. Atmosphere was not very exciting. They have cancelled the pirate ship show for good. Drink service on the casino floor was slow or non-existent.

Hotel is at a good location, room is clean and comfortable bed. I was tire of eating buffet so I tried the Vietnamese food in the restaurant and I was surprise how good it was. As good as the Pho in Little Saigon in L.A.!

Treasure Island is a great hotel. Hadn't been there in the last 6 or 7 trips to Vegas, but caught a special deal for it, so we booked it this time. Upscale enough to make you feel pampered, but "ordinary folk" enough to allow you to find lots of nickel slots and penny slots. We asked for and were given a nice view of the Strip, but as far as I could tell, we were not charged any extra for that (a couple of times on the Strip, we had to pay extra for a room that looked out onto the Strip). They put out a sign in the hotel lobby that tells when checkout will begin for that day (most places you can't check in until 3 p.m. -- and they advertise the same checkin time, but when they have enough rooms ready to begin checkin early, apparently they let you know without your having to ask). The elevators to the room are not way off from the casino so you don't have to walk a lot to get there. Food in all restaurants was great and reasonably priced, and all the employees went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Definitely going there again. Not as accessible to all other Strip casinos when you are walking like the Paris or the Flamingo, but for someone used to walking a lot, this would not be an issue. Loved our stay.

Room Tip: We asked for a Strip view and close to the elevator and were given that. Also check the lobby of th...
