“Great location for seeing Vegas.”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Just stayed 1 night while seeing Vegas for the second time. It's a perfectly located hotel...away from the noise of the strip and just around the corner from it when you are out walking etc. It's up the side street from the Harley Davidson cafe. Our room was large and it had a kitchen complete with utensils and even real glasses! Bathroom was fine with a powerful shower head. The bed was big too and comfortable. Rooms arent completely sound proof and as this is Vegas there was plenty of noise from guests returning to their rooms late at night and leaving early in the morning. We had sheltered parking too and didn't need to move the car from check in to check out time...a relief as driving on the strip can be a bit scary and manic! There is no breakfast provided so we dined at Harley Davidson...a bit pricey at 36 dollars for two. The 18 per cent tip was included. Not sure I like the idea of a compulsory tip! Breakfast was very good though.
So, yes I would say that this hotel is ideal for a trip to Vegas where you tend to be on your feet for long periods and it's good to know that the hotel is nearby even if the strip is long and it can take a while to return to the hotel!

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the Marriott building works next door especially between Mon and Fri.

Needed somewhere to stay for just one night in Las Vegas before our flight back to the UK. This proved to be an excellent find as it was so close to the main Strip but without all the hassle from having a casino in your hotel. Probably not the best if you just want to lay by the pool as it is very small and will be in shade from very early afternoon.
However all the rooms are equipped with kitchenettes and are clean and well presented - what more do you need these days?
Would stay again.

We wanted a casino/resort hotel for our trip, but on a tight budget, it wasn't possible. I booked a room at the Carriage House because of its great military rates, proximity to the strip and overall good reviews. I was surprised to find out JUST how close it is! We have stayed on the strip in the past and weren't as close to attractions as we were this time! Right across the street from Planet Hollywood and Miracle Mile shops, just perfect.
At check-in, the front desk clerk was very helpful and accommodating and I appreciated the warning about on the preauthorization fee, which you don't get at a lot of hotels. We booked a standard king room, but come to find out, we were put in a suite (with a great view of the strip, I might add)! Lovely bed, good selection of channels, plenty of closet space and decent appliances.
We stayed for a total of 3 nights, and it was a very pleasant stay.
Some comments
- Would really love some kind of secured parking. I understand the hotel is right off of a busy street, so keyed entry wouldn't help much, but it's open to any passersby (we didn't have any problems though)
- Dishes left in the sink were not washed. There's a dishwasher in room so I'm not sure if that's what they wanted us to do.
- Housekeeping was sufficient but not much to speak of. Our toiletries and towels were replaced, beds made, but one morning they forgot to replace the coffee. Didn't toss any trash on surfaces or tidy up otherwise. Understandable, maybe because they wouldn't want to touch people's belongings.
Would definitely stay here again! Well worth it. Makes access to the strip easy-peasy and for a fraction of the cost of other places!

Room Tip: Ask for a strip view. Don't let the photos deceive you, the older rooms are quite nice as well.

My wife son and I decided to stay here since we were vacationing for 8 days in Vegas rather than getting a hotel room. We got the 1 bedroom suite with the full kitchen and my son used the sleeper sofa for his bed. Very glad we got this room for the convenience of eating any of our meals on a table and having a refrigerator to keep food in. As for the room it was neat and clean, no wow factor but a very nice apartment with lots of closets. It has a big bathroom and kitchen, 2 TV‘s and plenty of room for sitting. The location was very good, block and a half off the strip and the neighborhood seemed to be safe. There was maid service everyday and the staff was very nice. The building has a small fitness center, pool, small food center and a business center where you can log-on to the internet. If you’re a family watching you budget this place would be a great choice. If you like the wow factor, lots of lights and glitter, casinos, you may want to stay on the strip. I would suggest that you rent a car while in Vegas since all the garages are free parking and you can choose restaurants off the strip. This hotel is very nice and I would consider staying here again.

We were amazed to find this place. The price was very good and we got basically an efficiency apartment a half block off the strip. We tried out four hotels on this trip and this was our second favorite. (Our favorite hotel though was well over twice the price of The Carriage House and a star rating higher.) Our room was advertised as having a king sized bed so we were surprised that we also had a sleep sofa. There is a full sized and fully equiped kitchen. The pool is clean and quiet with a wonderful hot tub. Since this was only a half block off the strip, I did spent more time looking around the strip than I did at any other place we stayed. It is right across the street from the Miracle Mile Mall and my granddaughter and I enjoyed visiting it. There is construction at the hotel next door, but it didn't bother us. I think we didn't even hear it except when we were at the pool. The employees here were all friendly and helpful. I'd stay here again any time.

Room Tip: I really don't have anything to contribute here.

My husband and I stayed at the Carriage House for three nights over a weekend trip to Vegas. I was very happy that we chose to stay here. Although the location wasn't perfect and we had a short walk to the strip, the price and the full kitchen more than made up for it.
PROS: Everything in Vegas (food, drinks, entertainment) is very pricey, and we probably saved $200 by doing breakfast and lunch in our room every day with the full kitchen. The front desk at the hotel gave us directions to a nearby grocery store a few miles away. The pool was nice and we took a few mixed drinks down with us ... in my opinion, much better than spending $15 for the same drink at a pool bar at one of the resort hotels. The housekeepers did a great job, the room was very clean. It was actually a very large room with a divider between the bedroom area and the rest of the suite. Very spacious closet. When we explored the larger resorts and casinos on the Strip, every casino was very smokey... I was glad we were in a smoke-free hotel! It was nice to come back to.
CONS: We did have construction noise on 2/3 mornings but I had been prepared and brought earplugs... it wasn't too bad. There is a short walk to the strip, wasn't that bad during the day but at night it seemed longer (when my feet hurt from walking all day!). The only negative staff encounter we had was the front desk person when we checked in... our flight had been delayed and we didn't arrive at the hotel until almost 1am (felt like 4am to us, still on Eastern time). We asked her where we could get something to eat (ANYTHING) and she really had no idea what was still open. She was nice enough, I just think maybe the front desk could be more informed about stuff like that and have some recommendations. We wandered around and eventually found a pizza place on the corner of the strip.

We were two couples; been travelling for a while and spent time in Vegas, then away for a couple of nights and back to Vegas for an absurdly early flight to Canada. So what we needed was somewhere quiet, able to accommodate two couples comfortably and also accessible to the strip if anyone decided they were up for it. We also wanted a kitchen because we figured by that stage we wouldn't feel like going out to eat; The Carriage House was a pleasant surprise. Spacious, very comfortable and quiet with a nice, big bathroom and a full kitchen. We certainly didn't hear any construction noise. Staff were helpful. It was a great choice very close to, but away from the strip.

Dear Paula67Adelaide,

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are glad you found us! The Carriage House is exactly as you described "an attractive place to stay in a quiet area" and "only a short walk to the strip". Many of our guests enjoy not only the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas and our proximity to world class restaurants and shows but also the peace and quiet at the end of a long day or night! We hope to see you again.

Happy Holidays,
