“Pretty good!”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

This hotel is conveniently located right off the strip, across from one of the entrances to the Miracle Mile shopping centre. We had one of the suites with the half kitchenette, king bed and queen size fold-out couch. The hotel was kind enough to provide a roll-away cot bed as we had 5 people staying in the room, and there was enough space in the main bedroom for the extra bed (which was super comfy, and which was really a mattress on a lovely wooden frame). The kitchenette we had had older appliances but they worked okay, and the hotel provided dish detergent for the dish washer and the sink. The fridge had an ice maker too so that was convenient. They also provided all the plates, cutlery, pots and pans, and some glass bowls and a juice jug. The shower has some intense pressure behind it so you won't have much trouble getting shampoo and conditioner out of your hair haha. The main bedroom has an extra vanity and sink which is convenient if someone is getting ready in the morning and another person needs the washroom. There's a free safe in the room, as well as a walk-in closet with a lot of hangers. The entire room is carpeted except for the kitchen and bathroom floors. We found the air conditioner/heater really hard to understand because even if you turned it on "heat", it still churned out cool air for a long time...So strange. There's a vacuum in the room and the carpets are dark so you'll probably need it haha. The lobby has two computers with free internet access and color printer, and the rooms themselves have internet access too, but it's really annoying because whenever you turn off your wifi on your device, you have to re-enter the code. The hotel staff were all really nice people (with the exception of one chick at the front desk, she was unbelievably rude). Overall, I thought it was a pretty good stay, but I have been in nicer timeshares before (but who really cares, you're not on vacation to sit around in the hotel room :P ). One thing I didn't like about it was that if you wanted to use the heated pool/hot tub, you had to walk across the parking lot to get to it!! They provide towels over there and there are washrooms, but it closes at 10pm every night =/

Room Tip: There's a hotel being built across the parking lot, so try to get a room on the opposite side of...

so since this was our second trip to Vegas we didn't really care about being on the strip and found that eating multiple meals out every day for a week was just a little harsh on the body so we looked into this place. as mentioned it is about a 8 min walk from the strip, excellent location by Miracle Mile Mall *Planet Hollywood Casino* and is a 10 -12 min walk to the nearest bus stop.
room was great, we stayed in a studio apt. and while being small, it certainly met our expecations, we had a coffee maker with coffee that was restocked daily, dishwashing liquid as in studio apts there is no dishwasher, as well as all the dishcloths etc. great size fridge with mini freezer section.
beds are comfortable. our room was facing away from the strip which i was very happy with as there is constructions behind the pool facing the strip of a new hotel, so yes, it is loud at the pool/hotsub section, but it's a great place to stay.

friends of ours stayed at the New York New York, and when looking at our room they decided that they will stay here next time they come back!!
amazing staff, the front desk staff are helpful, the concierge is amazing! and we cannot wait to return in the near future!! don't hesitate to stay here just make sure you get a room not facing the strip unless you are higher up and only plan on being in your room after 5pm

Great place just off the Strip.
1 bedrooms with a full kitchen fireplace and patio!

My preferred place to stay when in Vegas

Being off the Strip, but close to the Strip is preferable sometimes.

Reasonable pricing with or without the timeshare discount.

We booked at the Carriage House for five nights. The nightly rate was good at $99 + tax and location excellent as it was just around the corner from Paris and the Bellagio.

What do you find when you arrive at the Carriage House? Ample off street parking, a heated swimming pool and spa, the most friendly and accommodating staff and amazing apartments. Ours was a one bedroom apartment on 7th floor facing away from the strip. It was quiet and luxurious. It smelt as if it had only just been remodelled and the furnishings were outstanding. Huge lounge/dining area, full kitchen that was well stocked with all you need to self cater and a huge fridge that makes its own ice. They even supply all the dishwashing podwers etc.

The house keeping staff were exceptional and the apartment was a pleasure to return to each day. The beds were comfortable and had the best sleep we have had on the whole vacation. This property sits as the best place that we have stayed at in all the time that I have been writing these reviews (6 years). It was so good that we extended and were sad to leave, although other adventures were calling us on!!

Don't hessitate to stay at the Carriage House - it will be our place to return to again next time in Vegas.

Room Tip: Not sure if all rooms have been remodelled but ask - as non-smokers we were also on a non-smoking fl...

We had a great week in Vegas and really enjoyed the Carriage House. The location is excellent with a short walk to MGM to pick up the monorail. Planet Hollywood is across the street with the Miracle Mile mall for a short walk to the strip. The pool and the hot tub are OK, nothing like the big casinos but pleasant. Rooms are clean and the one we were in was very nicely furnished. Housekeeping is not the best. We had to hunt them down to ask for coffee packets each day as they didn't leave them for us. They didn't replenish shampoo, lotion etc either. They take towels if they are on the floor otherwise they won't take them. Which is an OK way to save on water. They do make beds each day but do not change sheets. Again, that is fine if you are OK with it. Concierge is helpful and will give you coupons and maps and directions as needed. Overall, an excellent off the strip location.

Room Tip: Nothing fancy here but nice location, quiet and clean.

EVERYTHING you could want for a short or long stay in Vegas. Huge suite - great fully equipped kitchen - bathroom large and all in working order - clean as a whistle - great maid service every day - smaller hotel - extremely relaxing just off the strip - I had a dodgy knee and managed the walk no bother - cannot fault it except for bad smokey smell on first entry in what was supposed to be non smoking room. This soon cleared with open windows.A definite 5 rating except for the smokey smell. Wouldn't let it be a deal breaker cos this really is a little gem. Wouldn't even think of booking anywhere else now in Vegas. Nobody could find genuine fault here. Book in confidence.

We booked this through Endless Vacations for a 1 week stay.
Most reviews were good so we decided to book for a 1 bedroom studio
We were aware that there was some internal building work and were prepared for this
I emailed the hotel and askerd if we could have an upper floor room with a view (as this is what people recommended), also asked if we cold have a room with a Full kitchen

The manager was helpful and emailed back saying all was arranged

On arrival the staff were friendly, we were asked how many wireless devices we had as they now changed to wifi vs needing a cable

The room iteslf was dated and instead of a wall between the lounge with sofa bed and the main bedroom there was a pull blind. This was not what we were expecting as the generic room plans and pictures imply solid walls

Still we decided to stick with it

The kitchen although small had a full set of utenstils, oven trays etc and plenty of freebies like coffee which were re-stocked daily

The room was also made up daily

The bad point was the pool

The hotel over the road was installing a crane. There was a notice in the lift to say building work was going on there but there would be minimal disruption

But all of Sunday the crane was being installed with much banging of metal and an occasional vehicle rolling past the low wall that seperated the pool from the next door building work

One thing of note by the way is that the sun does not hit the pool until 10am (9.30 by the wall with the building work) and is gone by 4pm

The pool was small but nice, it also had a small jacuzzi. The pool is accross the car park

We survived Sunday with the banging and clanging

I had brought my golf clubs so on Monday I set off to play golf early

On my return my girlfriend and daughter were none too happy

The building site over the wall was now in full swing, workmen everywhere, loud noise, dust being thrown up over the wall, vehicles reversing, cement mixer going too and fro by the wall throwing up both dust and exhaust fumes (this I witnessed myself)

We had been woken up at 7am by the noise as it was, because we were facing that way

We complained to the management and sadi we should have been warned,a nd told them about all the dust getting into the pool

They offered to switch rooms, but that was not the main problem

We just wanted to chill by the pool

So we decided to check out and find another hotel

We found the Granview Vacaction Resort (see seperate review)

So we ended up leaving after 3 nights (2 days)

The hotel were sure RCI were aware, but we did not book through RCI

We complained to RCI and after my 2nd email received a partial refund

Although the accomodation is a bit dated (I guess they are slowly upgrading) it is not that bad.

If you can live with the lack of sun it is a good base to explore, being very close to the strip with plenty of carparking in the hotel

Staff were fine and helpful

It is not their fault that the next door hotel is having major construction, and for those not wishing to laze all day by the pool it is probably no problem if you are in a room on the far side and not getting woken up

I hate writing bad reviews, but feel obliged to point out the current situation

I think when all the work is done it will probably get better reviews

My suggestion would be to install a large solid screen between behind the pool wall to try block the dust (if indeed the work is still going on since our stay at the end of August)

Room Tip: away from the building work
