“Clean, quiet, close to the Strip”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is a non-casino hotel within easy walking distance of the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. It is clean, very comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, even on a weekend on which there was a motorcycle convention in Las Vegas. Because of our AAA membership, we were upgraded to a suite that had a kitchen, dining table, and living room area, all for a reasonable price. We did not take advantage of the concierge at the hotel, but we saw other people doing so. My only small complaint is that the room was kind of dark, but that can be restful on a bright Vegas day.

Nice people, clean rooms, free parking, very close to the strip, not a casino, so quiet, not filled with smoke. Beds good, pool clean, good place to stay for relaxing. Make sure you understand that the key card is needed to use elevator, etc. Good security because of key card.

We have stayed at the Carriage House several times over the last 5 years and are never disappointed. The accommodations are first class, the location is great and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. We want to thank Lydia for her help during our recent stay. Parking is free and convenient but you really don't need a car to enjoy the city. The current construction noise was not bothersome and we actually enjoyed watching the men dig, pour and construct. Like guys with their Tonka toys.

Room Tip: All the rooms have good views, the rooms facing east face the construction area and the strip, those...

We stayed for a couple of nights and thought the location was awesome. It is just off the Strip but a few minutes walk and you are right in the middle of it all. Room was huge and we asked for a room with a view of the Strip and got one which was great. Quiet at night but it's all happening down the road and you can be there in a few minutes. Great value for money as well - would stay again when in Vegas.

We exchanged our week to stay at the carriage house. Freindly staff and clean accomodation. next to MGM and polo towers. 1 block from the strip, the Harley Davidson restaurant, planet hollywood. Ask for a room away from the construction of the addition at the mgm hotel.

Room Tip: Away from the construction side.

Stayed in this hotel for 6 nights a week ago, and was very pleased with it. Location is great as others have said - a 5 minute walk to the strip (right in the middle as well), so you can walk from there to all of the strip pretty easily - I didn't need a bus at all. There is an entrance to the Miracle Mile shops just over the road, with a few restaurants inside if you want a meal close by, and the Harley Davidson restaurant is just at the end of the road.

I had a room rather than a suite, however it was a good size, and having the kitchenette is extremely useful. I stocked up on food for the stay at the Walgreen at the end of the road (on the right - same side as the Miracle Mile) as it has a good range of groceries for breakfasts, snacks etc. Also handy having toaster, coffee filter etc, very well stocked! There is a small number of grocery etc items in the hotel reception as well, useful if you have a late arrival or just can't be bothered to go to the shop as soon as you arrive. The room also has coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, salt and pepper, as well as a mini pack of breakfast biscuits.

I used the washing facilities - pleasantly surprised by the cheapness as I go camping a lot (in the UK) and am used to high prices for washing and drying clothes. This just charges $1.50 for a wash, and $1 for a dry - both are very quick as well. The machines take quarters only, but reception were quite happy to provide change for me.

For the week I had a hire car so I could take trips out to places like Red Rock Canyon (less than 30 mins drive from the hotel) and the Valley of Fire (1 hour drive) - very useful having free parking at the hotel, and no space issues. It's worth noting that most places seem to have free parking.

One of my favourite features of the hotel is the free WiFi. It's a good bandwidth as well, and as the international roaming charges from the UK are so high WiFi is essential for trip research etc. Especially as I had relatives staying at the Wynn, and they were told it was $16 a day for WiFi! The TV has also has a free smartphone app that you can install to control the channels, volume etc - I found that easier to use than the remote control, a nice feature.

As it's a "small" hotel (for Vegas at least, normal size elsewhere!) there's no valet parking, bell boys etc - however for me this is a major bonus as I'm entirely capable of parking myself and carrying bags, and don't wish to pay anyone else to do it for me.

Overall I would highly recommend the Carriage House, and if I go back to Vegas I would definitely stay there again.

Just arrived back after 1 week's stay. Exchanged from Kissimmee through RCI. Our 1 bedroom apartment was 511 on the 5th floor facing the pool with obstructed (other buildings) views of Planet Hollywood, NY hotel and MGM Grand sign. The hotel next door is being renovated which we were advised in advance, this didn't really affect or bother us.

The room was like a suite and remodeled/updated. Plenty of room, dining table, large sofa, large flat screen tv, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, toaster, ironing board/iron, safe, plenty of drawer and wardrobe space and nice, large bed. The shower area was roomy but I felt that the overall bathroom space was on the small side with limited space to put toiletries.

The pool area is small but there were enough sun beds for guests and a welcome in the heat.

Location really was perfect. Literally a 5 minute walk from the Strip but set back enough from the hustle and bustle. It felt like we were almost in the 'middle' of the Strip - NY, MGM etc one way and Bellagio, Paris etc the other way.

It was my first time to LV and I was suprised at how expensive it was in comparison to other parts of the States I've been too. Bottled beer $6, margaritas $10 as an example in bars. Most people were purchasing alcohol from Walgreens. Tips are expected also for each drink purchased, $1 dollar each drink or 15-20% if a tab is opened.

We used the Deuce bus service $7 for 24 hours which took us the length of the Strip plus the Premium Oulet Malls & Fremont Street.

Overall, a fantastic stay, I would definitely recommend The Carriage House and would be back.

Room Tip: Room 511 offers obstructed views of NY hotel, MGM Grand sign and Planet Hollywood
