Majorly surprised by this place. It's only about 100 metres from the strip where Planet Hollywood and all the cool hotels are. Location could not be any more perfect. You can cross the street and by in the PH mall and go from there if it's too hot for the 100 metre walk. I really like the fact that they don't have 9 million rooms. Check in is much easier, you don't have to walk a mile to get to your room, it's just right there. Views are good too. Pool was just ok, but not bad. We used it a couple of times. They have everything you need for quick snacks or small groceries in the lobby which I thought was a great touch. Room was HUGE with lots of space to move around. Flat screen in bedroom and living room. Bed was super comfy...Front desk guy who checked us in and everyone else we spoke to really did a good job. service was 4 star without a doubt. Parking free too which was really nice to not have to worry about. Only downside is that housekeeper forgot to vacuum before she marked it as clean. We ended up doing that ourselves, but not a big deal. These things happen. Room was in perfect condition otherwise.

Room Tip: ask for strip view and high floor.

small hotel in a quiet street off the strip, 3min away of all the action!
Big room with kitchen. furniture of good quality not my style but considering the price .
Nice, helpful people at the front desk.
Would go again and I do recommend it to everybody who wants to be in the centre (near planet Hollywood) stay in a small hotel at a reasonable price;

Firstly, this is not one of the big LV Strip hotels. It is a budget hotel. We stayed at the Wynn last time in LV and nothing beats the Wynn! However if you need somewhere cheaper to stay, this hotel isn't bad. We were only here for 1 night and it was fine as an overnight stay hotel. The room was fairly big and was clean, although it persistently smelled of cooking despite the fact we didn't cook anything there. The smell lingered even after we brewed some coffee.

The hotel is a short walk from the Strip.

One of the reception staff was very helpful to us.

There is a sort of mini-mart of useful items including breakfast items. We were also told you can get breakfast nearby. There is wifi here.

The pool is adjacent to the car park.

We have stayed at Carriage four times at different times of the year. We have always enjoyed our stays there. The front desk people are eager to help. The check in and check out went smoothly. There is a business center for printing boarding passes next to the lobby. The pool is small but quiet and relaxing. It is next to MGM and across the street from Planet Hollywood. The rooms we have had had a full kitchen which is nice because we like to cook breakfast before starting our day. I would definitely recommend Carriage House to stay at in Las Vegas for a couple or family.

We stayed here in May of 09 not July 11. We had a 2 bedroom and it was a good size. The master bedroom has a bathroom in it and is a pretty big room. It is off the strip a little but is in a perfect location. All you had to do was walk up the street a little bit and you were at Planet Hollywood. I have no complaints about this place...we enjoyed it very much. Would definitely go back again.

Not sure who to blame for our experience at the hotel: the hotel itself or the Tripadvisor rating which completely over-promised and under-delivered.

Not quite sure which hotel most of these reviewers were staying at but certainly didn't feel like this was the same one. Makes me question the authenticity of certain Tripadvisor reviews...Anyway, some comments on our stay:

The good:
- Large flat screen TVs (although we didn't watch anything so not sure about the quality of the picture)
- Huge rooms - especially the 2 bedroom, it was enormous
- Fast, free wifi in our room (but see below)
- iPhone/iPod dock alarm clock that charges iPhone/ iPod
- Daily towel service (but not much more) if required

The bad:
- Surly/ unfriendly front desk staff
- 'Chintzy' rooms - admittedly, we were clearly not in a 'reno'd' room, which we didn't get to see and may have been less chintzy?
- Wifi practically non-existent in my parents' room/ anywhere else in the hotel
- Annoyingly had to re-log in to wifi every time we came back to the room/ every morning wifi was provided by Ruckus Wifi, so not sure if it's their issue or the hotel's router)
- Appalling lighting throughout the room - far too bright with hideous drop ceiling and nasty fluorescent lights in the kitchen
- Couldn't hear the mono-rail outside the room but that was because of the really loud traffic noise from the road
- Not a great location - sure it's only 5 mins from the Miracle Mile shops, but in the heat/ after a long day you just want to be back at your hotel - not walk even further and past some rather dodgy characters at night
- Tiny pool and pool area - the water in the pool was very murky so it was difficult to see the steps/ sides (which were crumbling away)
- The sun goes behind building by the pool by 3:30pm in early May.

Really hope someone finds this review helpful and books somewhere else for their Vegas trip.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else - the big hotels on the Strip are not noisy once you're in your room (at lea...

We chose this hotel based on reports here to compare it with Bill's, where we have stayed previously. The Carriage House wins!!
The first thing we noticed when getting out of the car was birdsong! Were we really just a block from The Strip? The location worked for us as we had a concert at MGM, which was easily walkable & it's close to The Strip but far enough away from the incessant din.
The room was large & well furnished & equipped with a fridge, microwave, hob, utensils & a safe. Lighting was good & the decor was shades of brown & beige.
The bed was high & firm but we slept well & the bonus was how quiet it was.
This place sells itself mainly by what it doesn't have. Only 2 lifts, no smoky casino, no background noise, & you can find your car & check in without wasting time!! It had a sense of calm in what is a crazy city. Great prices too. Sorry Bill's but we would choose this place anytime.
