“Clean basic accomodations close to the strip”
Reviewed October 4, 2013

This is a long 2-story building wedged between a nearly vacant shopping center and a parking lot, with a low price and convenient location. It is just a 4 minute walk from the strip, near the Wynn, Encore, and Circus Circus casinos, and is close to a variety of restaurants, a Walgreen's, the Catholic cathedral, and the monorail. The rooms are simple, but of good size as of mid-2013, freshly painted, well furnished, and clean. My room contained a safe (extra charge to use it), a television (not flat panel), small refrigerator and microwave (I had the impression these are not in every room), iron, and blow dryer. The in-ground pool is small, like a backyard pool at one's home, but decent. Breakfast from 6:30-9:30am each morning is in a small staffed room, with overflow to the patio outside the fence of the pool, and serves bagels, raisin bread (toaster nearby), margerine (but no jelly), 3 types of cereal (raisin bran, Cheerios, and Fruit Loops), coffe, tea, juice, and milk. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a $50 security deposit added to your credit card on check in. For the price, this places serves very well.

everything here was within expectation except for the breakfast and corridor(super hot and stuffy during summer because the air-conditoner's compressor unit is installed along the corridor. quite a long walk to the middle of strip. parking can be pretty limited, do not park beside the motel because your car will be towed away

Room Tip: choose a room that face east if you really have to visit during summer

Walking distance to the strip, but quiet, simple place. Next to it is a fantastic Ethiopian restaurant, for those who are fed up of hamburgers. Small pool to refresh, big rooms, clean. Computer to use for free at the entrance.

Decent-sized room, adequate bathroom, good selection of television channels. Breakfast very modest. Pleasant staff. Apparently secure. Close to Las Vegas Bl. and frequent buses to The Strip. The adjacent shopping center is mostly vacant. Not far from monorail station and convention center.

If all you want is a clean room, then this is for you. The Wifi does not work. The hotel computer does not work and we could not print boarding passes. There is no coffee in the room, and breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, bagels, toast and cereal. We only needed a short night stay to catch a flight out of Vegas, so we dealt with it. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For the very low price of this Las Vegas hotel, the close proximity to the airport and the Las Vegas strip is worth the small inconveniences if you don't mind plain and simple.

This is not a strip hotel. I have been using this place when I attend conventions at the convention center. It is within walking distance. I usually rent a car so I can go out into the desert and other locations, and the fact that you don't have to walk through the casino to get to your car is nice.

As far as the motel itself, the front desk staff are cheerful, in the past the management seemed a little combative -- tried to check in early, normally the front desk staff would check to see if the room was clean, but with the manager he said (without checking) "check in time is..."

When the motel switched hands (from Villa Roma to Rodeway) the rooms were in good shape. Now they need some maintenance, wallpaper peeling, drawers in dresser/TV stand out of whack. Just needs a little upkeep. This is particularly the case when the raise their rates for conventions. I noticed this year's CES where they would normally be completely full, they were not. There are better (but less convenient) that were available on the strip for less money.

Sometimes the hot water is a little slow, and most times I struggle slightly with the free internet. The included breakfast has changed. They used to have a waffle maker and danish and cereal. Now they switched to bagels some kind of bread and cereal. The waffles gave you a feeling of having something better. (not sure if it was true)

There is a pool but I have never been there when it has been warm enough to be open. There is no bar or restaurant but there are few places within walking distance like the Barrymore (nice fine dining place0 and the Peppermill (las vegas classic place open 24 hours)

Room Tip: I don't like the rooms in the main building -- to much activity, but if you are traveling alone...

After reading other reviews I thought I'd give it a try. Yes it is an older property, parking is tight if you have a larger vehicle. The staff was friendly, the room was clean,( a little mold in the caulk in the shower), the bed was good. I asked about the noise from the indoor sky dive place next door, I was told not to worry, I hardly noticed it, and after a little while I didn't notice it at all. The rooms color could be updated but when I'm in the room I'm going to be sleeping, so it's not a big deal. One thing I thought was unusual, no coffee pot, it would be nice if the room had one. That would be my only complaint, no coffee pot.
