Last week we spent four days and three nights at the Palace station in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a wonerful hotel and casino that all the locals go to. The help is very nice and are happy to have you as a guest. For the money you can't beat it.

Room Tip: The rooms are all very nice. I always choost a room with a king bed close to the elevator

The first night that my fiance and I were in Vegas, we stayed here. The room was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall it was a great experience. We will definitely return to stay here. It was not very far from the strip and was very clean.

yes the hidden costs are a rip off and it is not centrally located but having lived in Las Vegas before I feel very qualified to state that the staff is not the normal make up of vegas. The service was outstanding and in this day and age respect is hard to find. I recommend Place Station to recoginize these three outstanding employees: Brian that serves in the Italian Resturarant and sometimes in the Cafe, Robert/Roberto who tends bar in the irsih Pub. a young female waitress on in the afternoon and New years in the Pub and especially Betty who took care of our Court Yard rooms from 12/30/12 to 1/5/13.

In no way, shape, or form can this hotel be considered a "resort".It is just a big hotel. The resort fee is a rip-off, plain and simple.

That said, the hotel itself is on the dumpy side. My room and the entire wing of the hotel reeked of some nauseating odor. Kind of like all the chemicals in a 1950s beauty parlor. It was awful. The air filter on the fan in the bathroom was disgusting; it probably hadn't been changed in years. The wallpaper in the bathroom was starting to peel. They give you these stupid little designer bottles of shampoo that look pretty, but there is no possible way to actually get the shampoo out of the bottle. The room heater was located so that the warm air blows up the inside of the curtains. Really stupid. The room never got warm.. And paper-thin blankets didn't help either. The desk chair was the most uncompfortable chair I have ever sat on in my life.

On and on. Stay elsewhere.

PSH is not located close to the strip or other popular gambling areas. If you plan on walking from the hotel you'll have to pass over or under interstate 5. The walk to the strip is about .5 miles thru not so friendly areas. There are no really good restaurants near the hotel, landry's seafood and Macaroni Grill are about the best you'll find and Macaroni from our visit was poor at best, food and service wise.

What you need to understand about Palace Station Hotel and Casino is once you find a low price "Lets say $35.00 per night" once you arrive you'll be told you MUST pay a resort fee which includes wi-fi internet access and the pool. The pool is a small normal sized pool on the lower level set in-between the rooms in an outside court yard. No one uses the pools in Vegas during January since the weather is often below 30 degrees during the day, which was the case during our visit. Now once you arrive and pay the $35 the check in person will try and upsell you at a higher rate a tower room. Plus regardless of where you stay they'll demand $16.79 dollars PER DAY extra. This now makes the $35 room fee not such a good deal $51.79 per night. So be prepared for this extra fee on top of what you pay for the normal room. This is added even if you booked via say Priceline or Hotwire.

ROOMS:
These are ONE (1) star rooms, low quality mattress, no bed covers, just sheets overlapping a blanket. TV is old style 27" tube CRT TV. Bath has a stand up shower which is a really odd configuration, most of the time the bathroom is flooded due to the poor design which is all shower curtain. Sink mirror is so high only 6ft high or more persons can use it. The shelf above the sink obstructs access to the sink. Regardless its a poor design and the whole room is out of date and shows lots of wear.

VALUE:
No matter what you pay, its not a good deal, plus you'll be charged other fees on top of the normal rate. Hallways are dirty, poor carpets and some of the most shady characters roam the halls, we did not feel safe. Plus noise is an issue, doors slamming, loud music, voices at all hours of the night and day.

Room Tip: Do your homework and check ratings, cheap hotel rooms often mean really poor location and quality pl...

I booked this trip for two of my business travelers. I had sent in the paperwork for it to be pre-paid but they failed to run the cards. So upon check-in they had to search for the pre-pay documents. They were unable to locate one. After finding it, one of the cards was denied and my travelers had to use their personal credit card to pay for the room to guarantee their stay. This took an hour and 20 minutes to check in. The rooms were all paid for - there shouldn't have been any more problems but that is just the beginning. The hotel has been making extra charges to my travelers personal account - totaling over $3,000. Her account has been overdrawn several times and her account has been flagged - leaving her without any personal money to spend. She has to go down and talk to management daily regarding the charges. We had read that there were extra charges but this is ridiculous! My other traveler couldn't get her internet to work in her room and had to call service to have it fixed - no discount for the days she didn't have it. They are staying in the petite suites which are fairly nice. They are in non-smoking rooms but the smoke comes up from downstairs so it is a moot point. I have been trying to work with the reservations director to get all these problems fixed but of course her email box is full and my emails are coming back returned. She isn't returning my calls either. I spoke with her once and at that time she said they would do something to make this right for all their trouble - but haven't done a thing. I asked for a receipt to check on the charges and she said that isn't available until they check out. I don't think I would book here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are smokey, regardless if non-smoking. Petite suites are nice.
