Just returned from a trip touring Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Sequoia NP and LA and stayed at the Orleans at the beginning and end of our trip.

We really loved this hotel, with its very clean, large rooms and little quirky window in the shower.

Another reviewer says that the air conditioning broke down on the 29th July - we were there then but didn't notice anything wrong - perhaps the unit in their room was not working.

The restaurants, particularly the Courtyard Cafe, was excellent and the portions in Terrible Mikes were so huge, we had to have one between the two of us!!

The shuttle buses to the strip came along at very regular intervals so there was no problem about getting into the heart of Vegas.

The pool is huge and very clean with lifeguards in attendance.

The only negative comment is that we would have liked a fridge in the room, as the heat was horrendous!

We didn't gamble, so can't comment on that side of things, but would definitely recommend the Orleans.

Stayed: July 2006

I stayed at the Orleans for a weekend in July. We had two adults, 2 teenage boys and 2 10 year old girls in our party, so we booked two rooms. Our experience was great.

The girls swam everyday in the huge pool, while we adults sat poolside and enjoyed beverages from the poolside bar. The girls had hot dogs which were reasonably priced at the poolside snack bar.

Meanwhile, the teenage boys spent time in the huge arcade and also saw a movie in the in-house movie theatre. All of the kids bowled a few games in the in-house bowling alley, which is as big as any bowling alley we've ever been, and extremely well maintained. They bowled on a Saturday night and we only had to wait about 20 minutes for a lane.

We ate most of our meals in the Courtyard Cafe just due to convenience, but the food was excellent. We did eat dinner in the French Market Buffet one night, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. They did have a mongolian barbecue where they cooked your food fresh, and that was good, but the rest of the food was typical buffet food that was adequate, but not great. We didn't try TGI Fridays or any of the other restaurants, but they certainly have a lot to choose from.

And I don't want to forget to mention the rooms, which were huge and immaculate. The kids especially loved the beds which definitely had above average mattresses.

All this for $99 a night. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Las Vegas.

We have stayed at the Orleans twice now and really enjoy how the rooms are quiet, clean, and spacious. Plus, it is cheap...$35.00 for a king room with sitting area. On the down side it's not on the strip but we usually have a car, so that's not an issue. The clientele, well, let's be kind, it's not the Bellagio you are staying at, so, expect regular people.

We stayed at the Orleans July 24th - July 26th. This was my 4th visit and had always enjoyed the Orleans. The Hotel was very busy so that may account for my disappointment.
1. The room carpets were badly stained.
2. The beds were not made properly and I actually thought that perhaps they had not been changed since the previous occupant.
3. There seemed to be a protector? under the sheet ontop of the mattress that looked as though it belonged in the bin.
4.I was having a bath when I noticed a certain type of hair that did not belong to me, this made me almost sick!
5. My husband gambles and he complained on several occasions about the heat in the casino but he did not get any satisfaction.

All in all for a budget hotel you get what you pay for but on previous trips we have always had cleanliness but on this occasion the hotel was dirty. At the courtyard cafe we had breakfast only to find lots of used chewing gum stuck underneath the table and on the floor!ugh!
That was our last trip to the orleans.

We had a three and half hour delay from my flight. So when we checked in at 3 am, we were exhausted and cranky. But the front desk girl made everything better. She gave us a nice room away from the construction area, and she was such a sweetheart. The hotel is ok, but it is not Westin or anything like that. I got a good deal on the stay for 3 nights. The only reason I would not stay here is because of the location. It is like 10 minutes ride depending on the traffic to the main strip. They do provide the shuttle for you, but it is still pain in a butt to just not be able to go back to the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was for the money we paid. We got buy one night, get one free...we got two nights for $60! The room was clean and bright; the bathrooms nice and clean as well. There was a sitting area in our room. I would recommend this hotel to all, and even though it is not on the strip, it is a cheap cab ride to the strip. The casino tables are cheaper than the bigger casinos, which is also a plus!!! Will stay here again when we are on a budget and saving our money to gamble with!

The Hotel Airconditioning system malfunctioned

on Saturday Night - July 29th,2006 and did not

come back on until the morning. With 110+ heat in

Las Vegas the hotel did not seem to have an

emergency plan of action. My guess is that some

preventative maintence could have fixed this problem.

The hotel did not even offer a 1/2 comp or apology for

this . With many seniors staying at this resort I think

they should hire some qualified technical inhouse

repair staff instead

of calling a sub-contractor who benefits for taking a longer time

to repair problems as they occur.

This facility is old by Las Vegas standards and is in need of a

major facelift.
