The Orleans Hotel & Casino

We stayed all around Vegas this trip & The Orleans was the best experience. It is off the strip, & we had a car to make that issue easier. The rooms are dated, but clean. There was no charge for a coffeepot, & security checks keycards to enter the elevator. Overall the experience is pleasant, employees aren't obnoxious like those I've encounted on the strip. I rate The Orleans high due to the price, ease of check-in, & quiet halls.

The Orleans is a nice hotel. It's a bit off the strip, but there are always cabs available to take you anywhere. It's a clean hotel and is packed full of very helpful and friendly staff. Jidel went above and beyond to help us get our boarding passes printed. The hotel is a bit outdated, but the rooms are clean and fairly roomy.

Go to Vegas many times a year and have stayed at The Orleans many times. It is great inexpensive hotel - beds are very comfortable and I like the larger rooms that have a nice seating area. They just updated their TV's so that is now a real plus. Internet included with resort fee which is very nice. Almost everyone I've come in contact with at the Orleans has been very friendly and willing to please, only exception is some of the staff in the Café that could be more friendly. Valet staff and registration are always excellent.
Have lots of different slot machines to play with a very large casino. great variety of restaurants of all price ranges and a small food court. Sometimes it can be little noisy by the tables on the week-ends but I just move to a different slot machine. Not had major problem with noise in the rooms and it's nice to be away from the strip and the airplane traffic. heater/air can be little noisy but most hotels are.
I stay on the strip more when I don't have a vehicle but they do have a shuttle service.

Room Tip: I prefer higher up to get view of mountains or strip and then you're away from the trash and del...

I love everything about this place. It's off the strip so it's not as packed but it's still very close if you want to go there. The hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is amazing, always friendly and seem to go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that over looks the strip - beautiful to see at night.

Booked our accommodation through Hotwire Hot Rate deals, so weren't sure what we were getting until we had booked just a general idea what area.
THe Orleans is just east of the strip and is easy to locate and has ample parking (we drove there). The valet service seemed a little busy but it wasn't hard to get information off the valets as to where we could park ourselves - no problems.
Checking in wasn't a problem and as with all the Vegas hotels you just need to be aware of the "convenience fee" that they charge. The fee basically covers the "free" internet and more importantly the shuttle bus that gets you to the strip area in about 5 minutes along with a bunch of discount voucher coupons fro various things in the hotel.Just factor in around $10 per room when you're pricing the places. Just be aware that smoking is allowed in the Casino area which is right next to the Reception so you might get the odd whiff of smoke although didn't really notice it that much and I'm a non smoker who hates smoke anywhere near me.
The rooms we had were great, big, spacious and clean. We had a King size bed in a non smoking room (guessing it's a good idea to nominate this). The bathroom was spacious as well and very clean. With your rooms you can ask for the mountain view or strip view but this costs an extra $5 and to be honest most of the rooms have got a view of something.
One of the bonuses was that to access the elevators to get to your room you have a Security Guard there 24/7 to keep check on everything.
Breakfast has got something for everybody and at $9 a head it's great value for money.
Would definitely stay here if we were to visit Vegas again, was good value for money and the rooms are clean and very comfortable.

I've been to Vegas 8 times now and 7 of those times I've stayed at the Orleans. Once on the strip and I would never go back!
Its quiet, doesnt get the foot-traffic of the strip, is less smoky, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The pool is relaxing and great for families.
Great restaurants and shops, always have a great stay here and we are booked again for summer of 2014! :)

We had read reviews on this hotel before booking and chuckled as one person said it smelt of farts and cigars!! it was very smokey after you had the initial blast of vanilla as you entered the hotel. Staff were friendly and the hotel had made a real effort with Christmas decorations. The rooms were dated and carpets were stained, but overall we were impressed with the size of the room and the comfortable beds and the linen was spotless. what spoilt it for us was how much noise there was during the night, from people coming back to their rooms in the early hours who felt everyone must want to know what they did to the toilet flushing from other rooms, we stayed 3 nights and it was the same every night. I don't know if it was because of the size of the hotel but everywhere else we have stayed we have never had that level of noise that it kept you awake. I personally found it was too far out from the strip, but others may prefer that. Overall not a bad stay but not the best either.
