Hotel plus casino as one would want when in Las Vegas. Decent rooms with nice customer service. Don't go by the star ratings. We were booked onto a lower floor (5th) when we checked into the hotel room but on request the gentleman moved us to the 16th (as high as he could) and with a view of the strip. This helped us catch the fireworks from all the possible hotels live in action.
The Orleans is approximately 3 miles away from the strip but they have a shuttle serivce to the strip every 30 mins upto 12:30am (should change it to 1:00 am) starting at 9:00am. The pick you up and drop you at Flamingo (flamingo road and las vegas blvd) across from Bellagio or Paris's Eiffel tower. You can walk the strip or catch the monorail or the bus whatever you want. It was very convinient for us as we did not have to worry about driving, parking or traffic jams around the new years eve. You could call in a cab to return back after shuttle service hours and that would cost around $15. The hotel has a food court and a 24h subway, sbarro. Others were JAVA, Baskin Robbins, Fuddruckkers, TGI Fridays, Irish pub.... They had 18 movie theaters, valet parking. They also have shuttle serive to and from Gold Coast. They automatically charge you a resort fee which include local/toll free calling, in-room coffee, access to fitness center, a safe, 10 min acess to internet in business center, wi-fi at JAVA cafe, shuttle service, parking and some food/retail discounts. The rooms were OK in terms of cleanliness, the carpets were soiled as evident by black patches in pictures and that is what I would expect in LV. The hotel was recently renovated (partially) most likely exteriors as interiors still had old mounts intact. The floor was surprisingly not noisy at all. Stayed there for 3 nights had no problems at all except for had to wait for the bus for additional 30mins as it got full. I would recommend this place if you wish to stay away from the strip or you getting a better bargain.

Room Tip: higher floors facing towards the strip for a great view in the event of fireworks on 4th July or New...

We just spent three nights at the Orleans and will definitely be returning. Like about 8000 other people, we were in town for a basketball tournament. The hotel was full but we felt no lack of service, cleanliness, or comfort.

Check in was quick (No solicitors pounced on us as we entered.) and the clerk recognized our name immediately, remembering that we had a message. Our room was a Deluxe King and very spacious. (Definitely NOT Motel-6-sized...) Nice sitting area, comfy bed, large flat-screen TV. Hallway carpets appeared new, and the decor was French but not overdone with fleur-de-lis or mardi gras colors, as we had feared.

The bathroom arrangement is unique; closet area is actually in the very large bathroom. A small window at the end of the tub ventilates amazingly well. The towels could have been bigger, but there were plenty of them.

Elevators were quick. Nights were quiet, except for occasionally slamming doors. Shuttle to the Strip was easy. Plenty of dining choices. Lovely pool area. What more could we ask for? We have tried the Excalibur, Luxor, and Monte Carlo; this will be our destination hotel/casino in Vegas from now on.

We stayed at the Orleans since the WCC basketball tournament was in the Orleans Arena. We had a non smoking room on the 10th floor. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The Orleans is off the strip (I personally like that), and it is a little older. But I found the accomodations reasonable and nice. I have to admit we were mostly at basketball games, so didn't spend much time in the room. I thought the staff was very friendly, always saying hello or wishing a good day/night. They kept our room nice and clean. We'd head down for breakfast and it was clean by the time we returned to get our tickets and head to the games. I have absolutely no complaints. And if you have a car, there's tons of parking in their parking lot.

Room Tip: Be aware the hotel fills quickly in early March when the WCC basketball tournament is there. Spokan...

We've stayed here almost every year for the last decade, and we have not been disappointed. It's an economical way to come to Las Vegas, staying in a nice hotel with excellent service. We made reservations far in advance (since it was my birthday) and I later noticed that the rates had dropped on the website. One phone call, and they cheerfully adjusted the rate of our rooms.

During our stay, there were 3 or 4 high school graduations a day in the Orleans Arena. I had visions of the place being overrun with unruly graduates, but you never would have known they were there.

The rooms are huge, with very comfortable beds and a sitting area near the window. I love getting a room with a view of the Strip. It is off the Strip, though there is a free shuttle that runs until I believe about midnight. It's close enough that a cab ride is inexpensive. Frankly, I like being off the Strip -- it seems like we see more of the city that way.

There was a daily charge for in-room Wi-fi, but it is free in the little coffee shop near the casino entrance. You don't have to buy anything (in fact, there are some benches just outside), and you can sit there any time you want, even if the shop is closed. There is a machine where (for a couple of dollars) you can print your boarding passes. You can do that in the business center as well.

We'll be back!

Room Tip: Strip View rooms are best. The halls are very long, so if you have difficulty walking, request a ro...

The hotel was exceptionally clean and pleasant. The rooms are much large than the other Sam's properties which is a plus because I use a mobility scooter. Also the handicapped rooms are the first rooms as you get off the elevator, at least on the ninth floor. That was Staff was personable and welcoming and ready to accommodate guests. Beverages service was excellent in the casino. Shuttle service is available to the strip and Fremont Street.

I recently returned to the hotel and once again found the service was excellent. It did not matter who or what you asked, the Casino Hosts, housekeeping, bell desk, front desk, etc., staff they ALL demonstrated superb customer service. Each one of my contacts truly respected me as a valued customer and appreciated my choosing of the Orleans Hotel and Casino....and there are a lot of hotels in Vegas. I am constantly amazed that the Orleans Hotel and Casino can continue to offer GREAT room rates for all the attractions (bowling, movies, pools, game room, gambling) they offer. Don't be surprised if you see Michael Jackson's father roaming the Casino. In addition, the gambling is great! If you get a chance, experience the stay yourself for confirmation.....ay least one night for about $29. Watch for the specials.

Room Tip: Ask for a view room next to the elevator.
