“Won't Stay Here Again”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

After 20 years of patronage - we have fallen out of love with the Orleans.

On a recent trip to Las Vegas for casino industry trade show - yes I work in the business -
we had an terrible room experience. It took us no less than 5 rooms to find one that was
finally only OK.

First room - huge stains on carpet in room - so moved down the hall. Bellman
never did show up to help us move our bags. Second room - looked ok, went to
dinner, came back to read paper and relax. Light bulb was burned out on the lamp. Picked up
the phone to ask for repair - PHONE NOT WORKING. Went down the hall to call on house phone. It took over 30 minutes to get a repair person up. He worked for 45 minutes trying to
troubleshoot the problem. He could not fix it - so moved to room # 3 at 10:30 at night. After
moving to the new room - Television would not turn on. On to room # 4 - moved us to a musty smelling room on a different floor. We declined that room and moved to Room # 5 - a non-strip view - at the end of hall. It had some musty smell. They said they could spray freshener - but we declined as it was 11:30 by that time. (The bath taps in this room had a big drip that could not be shut off.) We reported it in the morning - but it was never repaired during the two nights we stayed there.

We are not fussy people, just need a room that is clean, quiet and in working condition. The Orleans has clearly been skimping on maintenance. The housekeeping seems to not be even aware of the problems and all the staff seem to be ignoring problems. Bell staff were missing in action.

The hotel did not charge for the first night and a small food credit to compensate for our trouble. However, the 4 plus hours invested in finding a room left us with an permanent bad taste in our mouth about the Orleans. We will not be back and would not recommend it to anyone that cares about a clean decent accommodation. Las Vegas has much more to offer at much better levels of service.

Room Tip: Don't stay here but if you do - inspect the room carefully.

We are sorry to read that your last stay at The Orleans Hotel and Casino was so negative that a loyal customer that has patronized our establishment for so long is not planning on returning. Please accept our sincere apologies for the many issues you encountered while staying here. We have review your post with our Hotel and Facilities teams and we have set new procedures into place that we hope will keep others from going through a similar experience. We are in the process of carpeting our hotel rooms and we plan a remodel project for the Spring of 2013. We welcome the opportunity to get your business back; please contact our Hotel Director. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon.

This was our 3rd stay at The Orleans. We visited bigger strip casinos and love the low key, slower pace of The Orleans. Anything you want to do, you can do here. Pool, spa, beauty salon, eat, bowling, movies, they have it all. Yes, the rooms could use some upgrading but how much time do you really spend in them? The Orleans is always our hotel of choice when visiting Las Vegas, we never look anywhere else!

Off strip location with large rooms and moderate price. Lots of dining choices and a variety of activities. Stayed at the Orleans to take in a show and found there is lots to do in and around the hotel.

Good Mexican food at the San Miguel restaurant.

We always stay on the strip but my husband had heard about the Orleans from a friend so we decided to give it a try this trip. And I am so very glad we did! Check-in was quick, maybe 2 people in line in front of us. The room was large and comfortable. Could use some new wallpaper as the style was outdated, but hey if that's the worst you can find about a place, not bad! Housekeeping did a great job. The spa was an absolute gem, a beautiful facility that shouldn't be missed! The cafe served a wonderful breakfast at a very reasonable price. They have a food court with excellent choices as well as several nice restaurants on the property. A shuttle to the strip will take you to the heart of the action but once we got down there we decided soon after that we would rather be back at the Orleans! The casino had low minimums and provided good play. Video poker paradise! Check it out, you will be glad you did!

There is a huge casino so you do not have to go anywhere if you want to gamble. But if you want to explore Strip there is a free shuttle bus every 15min in the evening. But sometimes it gets crowdy and you might need to waint for another one.

If you just want to relax, there is great pool and spa. You do not have take a single step out of the hotel to get a nice meals, there are plenty of great restaurants. Plus you get coupons upon check-in which you can use in these restaurants.

The wifi is paid, but you can get 10min of internet every day in one of the cafes.

All together great value for your money

We stayed 4 days for Mr, Olympia loved the hotel. clean and everything you could want in one place. We are not the partying type so The Orleans had everything and more. The casino was fun but we lost.....oh well.,,,,,, great choice for food.....great upgraded rooms with 2 nice queen beds, If we ever get back to vegas this is our first choice rooms reasonable and about 10 - 15 min from strip.............they even had a shuttle but we chose to rent a car. did i mention free valet parking with the 6.00 resort fee that was a life saver!
