Love this pool. Several pools, one adult only pool. The vibe is super cool - no crazy partiers just people having fun! The lazy river is super long and a great way to cool off and "sight see" You can rent and interube for 16 a day or 10 for a half day. Smaller ones you can purchase a pool shop for $12 and the will top off the air. HIghly recommend a tube

We never rented the cabanas because we thought the were too expensive. Well, they are and they aren't. The last 3 times I've been to Vegas we have done the cabanas because they work it on a Food and Beverage minumum. Some pool hotels you rent the cabana and get nothing but a bottle of water and cheese. The MGM has a food a beverage minimum that varies during the week and months from $200 - $700. So if you and your friends are going to be having drinks at the pool and spending 50 - 100 each or more, then you may as well rent a cabana! If you ask at the cabana desk I am sure they will give you a deal if it's not too busy.

Cheers!!

Room Tip: Cabanas 3 - 10 are close to restrooms and not crazy noisy

We had 2 rooms booked, for us and our 2 adult children both had 2 queen size beds in each, our rooms were very comfortable and modern. We were unable to open our fridge but the kids opened theirs to show me what was in it, but apparently as soon as you lift up a bottle out of the fridge you are charged for it on your room account. I visited the reception desk at a quite time well before we were due to check out and was told that there was a charge for the alcohol, I told them that we did not use any and they said housekeeping would check before we went to check out the next morning, this happened so avoided any hassles. We ate breakfast at the buffet 3 times even tho it was $30 each, we didn't need to eat again until dinner time. Dinning in was more expensive, but there are so many options available in Vegas, you can always find a cheaper alternative. Would stay again, as it was Xmas the room rates were cheaper also.

Room Tip: Stay away from the lifts, as they are very busy.

First of all, this was my first time to Vegas in 35 or so years so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was excited to see the strip. We pulled up to the hotel and just the sheer size was overwhelming but that has nothing to do with my rating.

Check in was fast and efficient and we were provided with directions to the wing our room was in. We found that easily enough and then had to walk...and walk... and walk... to our room. That is where things went a bit downhill for us.

It's not like we were expecting to have the presidential suite or anything but there were a few things about the room that really did not impress us. First, while the size of the room was adequate, the washroom area was very disappointing. We had a room that had only a glass shower which was fine in itself but what was disappointing was that the toilet was in also in a glass enclosure with no latch on the door. Being a married couple that wasn't a huge concern but we still found it odd. The next thing I noticed was there was no space to put any of our toiletries due to a lack of a vanity next to the sink. The bag our toiletries were in didn't even fit on the skinny, narrow shelf. The extra towels were on a rack in the same space as the toilet so if you needed a towel and someone was in there, you had to wait. The shower itself was huge but all it had was a tiny triangular shelf in the corner that was barely big enough for the miniature soap/shampoo/conditioner the hotel supplied so my shampoo etc had to sit on the floor. Lastly, the light in the closet does not shut off which would normally annoy me but every night I was so exhausted I could have slept with all the lights on. :P

The thing that really got me was NO IN-ROOM COFFEE!!! I could hardly believe it! I know there are several Starbucks outlets in every hotel but nothing in the room itself? Ridiculous! After the inevitable late nights I know I would have really enjoyed waking up with a coffee in bed instead of having to wait til I found some breakfast. Why can't there be Starbucks coffee in the rooms?

We had breakfast at the buffet only one morning and that was because we found the food totally average and not worth the $22/person they charged. There is a Denny's within a short walk so we went there instead the next day.

The bed was very comfy but I was so tired every night it could've been filled with rocks and I probably still would have slept like a baby.

We checked out the pool area but did not use the pool. I did have a drink from one of the nearby bars but paying $14 for a margarita with no discernible alcohol in it was a total turn-off.

Overall, we were happy enough with our three-night stay but next time we may pony up for a nicer hotel or at least a more expensive room to see if it offers more.

Dear Vicki P:

Thank you for offering your concerns. We apologize that your assigned West Wing room and provided in-room amenities proved unsatisfactory. At MGM Grand, we offer many different room types to satisfy the various needs of our guests. We would hope to find you an alternative that better suits your needs the next time you are in town. It is further regrettable you found our Grand Buffet unable to exceed your expectations. Your insights are important to us as we work to better our performance and provide a more satisfying guest experience in the future.

We have been to Las Vegas numerous times and stayed at a few fabulous different hotels but you can't beat the pools and lazy river at MGM. The service was awesome and the room was extremely comfortable. A coffeemaker in the room would have been a plus. I would stay here again.

A little impersonal because of its size but good overall. Nice room but a little dark. The room was quiet, nicely decorated and the bathroom was great. Would stay here again but would definitely upgrade.

we had booked for four nights through a travel agent in London having in full in advance during the last week of May,after driving for more than five hours due to heavy traffic from LA found it a bit frustrating to having to queue for more than 30 minutes,The room was okay but both the carpets and the bed looked dated, and the worst is that base of the bed is lager than the mattress , with torn edges.I hurt my legs on three different occasions with skin peeling and blood strained trousers,it was a painful experience and the wounds have not healed yet,The worst was to come , at checking out again after queuing for good 15 minutes, we were asked to pay for some purchases at the cake shop and a bar bill at the swimming pool total 62 dollars, we had never used the any bar at the hotel and we had always paid for our food and nonalcoholic drinks with cash, we challenged the entries and asked for the signed receipts, the cashier and the manager said that they could not retrieve the receipts as they were not scanned, but they would check these in due course and if the signatures on the purchases matched mine then I have to pay.the implication here being that they did not believe me, I found this demeaning and i had to raise the matter with the security that some one had matched my room number with my name, how was this possible in a hotel which prides itself of excellent security and asked them to look at the video footage as I never went to any bars in the hotel, they could not resolve the matter on the spot, but they agreed to investigate the matter but as a result of all this my departure was delayed by more than an hour. i am back in london now still waiting for a report on this fraud,I will never return to this hotel but if any reader does chose to stay , do not do an auto check out , check every item on the bill and at the time of checking in instruct them that there should be no room charges, pay by credit card or cash.
