“Very Nice experience”
Reviewed April 1, 2014

MGM is an extremely good property with lots and lots of things to do. The casino is absolutely large and enjoyable if you have enough money to spend. The rooms were absolutely clean and in very good condition. Anyways the hotel never sleeps and is lively 24 hours. Anytine is good enough for a good sip of Bud light beer in the hotel. extremely enjoyable experience. Being a vegetarian is the only problem I faced.

Room Tip: take rooms on the southern side

My husband and I came here for our 29th anniversary. We have been to Las Vegas and stayed at other hotels and the MGM many times. Our first stay at the MGM was in 1993 when it first opened. This time we finally, without asking, were given a room with a beautiful strip view. We had an executive king suite- and it was a great, comfortable room. The room also has a separate shower. Check in was a breeze and our room was ready, this is very unusual. Our suite was an upgrade we were offered by email for a small fee of $14 per day. However, at checkout we were charged a higher daily rate on our account. We had to show our email at the front desk to get the adjustment to our bill. We ate at the Avenue Cafe, Fiamma, Taps, Emerils, and Wolf Gangs- all very good. The casino is large and always busy and drink service was always available. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Great gift shop and MLife discount. The casino has a great variety of new slots and the usual table games. Many people do not like the air freshener scent that is sent through the air ducts at the MGM, but I love it! We had a busy and fun time, saw the new Michael Jackson One show and will definitely go back to the MGM again for more fun.

Room Tip: Executive King suites very good size and comfortable.

Dear Carol W:

Happy anniversary and thank you for once again making MGM Grand a part of your Las Vegas experience. We have evolved so much since we first opened, but our continued dedication to providing the premier resort destination has never faltered. Recent upgrades to our facility and accommodations have proven popular indeed, and our unbeatable customer service provides our guests with the individualized attention they deserve.

We are pleased your initial billing complications could be resolved in a timely manner, and regret any disconcertment they must have caused you. Thank you for sharing your special time with us. We look forward to being a part of your future travel plans.

Sincerely,

I was at the MGM for a convention and was very surprised to find the place aging pretty badly. The public places, especially lobby area and casino, are really looking dated now. The room was comfortable, but lacking in some of the basics (like an in room safe). Service was fine, restaurants tired and entertainment getting long in the tooth. I would be fine to return here for a business meeting or convention, but would look elsewhere if heading to Vegas for a vacation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the grand tower elevator bank if you don't want to hike. I had colleagues who...

This enormous hotel quickly and efficiently dispatched us to our double room "petite king" but only one bed. We ate in Fiamma, one of the hotel restaurants food was good but expensive and service was efficient although I later discovered some MGM green paint on the wing mirror of my hire car presumably provided by the parking valet driver. The room service breakfast was way overpriced. If you like crowds of exuberant hotel guests vying for the worst dressed list this is the place to be. Once was enough!

Easy check in, although not offered any "professional courtesy" upgrades.
We stayed 3 nights in the West Wing, non-smoking section and loved it! It was quiet, clean and comfortable.
This hotel is HUGE! We had no idea how big it actually was until our last day. Our only wish is that we had started exploring sooner. Wonderful restaurants and shopping on site.

Room Tip: The west wing was quiet and smoke-free.

My issue with the review is primarily about the room we stayed in. The MGM property is very nice and has a lot to offer to everyone who stays there and it's quite big. I was not impressed with the West Wing room. The staff was always courteous and friendly. We had to call someone to come and look at a light that kept flipping on in the middle of the night and he was very nice but what an inconvenience!

Once you leave the main floor of the MGM and enter the hall of the West Wing you notice a very long hallway and extremely dark depressing walls. The ceiling height is extremely low. I also noticed the carpeting was very worn. Our room on the 10th did not have an actual view but I felt I could love with that. It's a small room and it's laid out ok, but is odd with an open concept bathroom area. It allows very little privacy for bathroom or showering. It has modern décor, but again carpets and furniture need attention.

Dear amyleigh27:

At MGM Grand, we offer a wide selection of amenities, entertainment, attractions, and service. We also provide a variety of room and suite types to satisfy the many different needs of our guests. While our West Wing rooms are a favorite with many patrons, others find a more satisfying experience staying in our Grand Tower accommodations. It is clear that your room proved unsuitable to your preferences, and we apologize. We hope if you would stay with us again, we might find you something that better fulfills your needs.
