If you read down far enough, you are going to see horrible reviews of the Flamingo - my recent experience was very positive, and I suggest booking a room here. My wife and I spend Valentines Day each year in Vegas, and we have stayed in over 10 different resorts, from the Silverton to Treasure Island to the Wyndham Timeshare - and this was by far the best Vegas experience ever. I suggest upgrading to a GO Mini-suite room - which is well worth the $50 per night I paid. I've attached photos - but the room must be 30 ft. wide, with a floor to ceiling wall of glass with electric drapes! A major WOW factor - as we made an effort to watch sunrise and sunset from our room each day. The casino is in the middle of everything, the staff was cordial, and did I mention the view ??

Take it from a seasoned Vegas veteran - the older hotels may not shine quite as brightly as the new places, but the true spirit of Las Vegas resides within...

My wife and I traveled to Las Vegas from Feb 9-12. We had a (king) basic room (rm. 6006) on the 6th floor with a view of Bills Saloon and Bally's. We were given the option to pay for an upgrade however we figured we would only be in the room to sleep. You can get an upgrade with a better view of the strip or the pool depending on what your wants are. The bed was very comfortable and clean.

Our room cleaner (Jadwiga) was so nice and friendly that she gave us a little teddy bear saying I love the Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas on our last day. She was a true sweetheart and always asked if the room was to our liking.

The pool was closed however we ended up getting a private tour by a hotel employee. She stated that May is the time to come because the weather is just right.

We will return to this hotel when we visit Vegas again.

We chose to stay at the Flamingo for its cheap rooms and central location. The location was perfect cause we were middle of the strip and made it easy to walk in either direction to any attractions. We were right next door to Margaritaville and Bill's Casino and we spent a great deal of time there.
The rooms are in bad need of updating....old gold carpet, uncomfortable beds and pillows, and furniture that needed replacing. The casino, restaurants and grounds were very nice. And the pool is supposed to be the best on the strip. This really wouldn't be a bad hotel if they would remodel their rooms.
Having said all of this, we still chose her because we wanted a "cheap" trip to Vegas and we succeeded in doing that by booking at this hotel.....so if you are looking for the Ritz, you need to pay for a Ritz....but if you want cheap, you are gonna get what you pay for.

I have never been to vegas before and found a lot of bad reviews from this hotel, we are group of men that wanted to go down and watch the las vegas rugby sevens and didnt care much about rooms and so forth, the flamingo is worth your money for the price you pay, if you bring the wife that fusses then upgrade to the go room with a view for 30dollars , they are newly renovated rooms with a coffee maker and mini fridge , the regular rooms dont have a cofee maker or fridge, stay on the 20th floor room 20016 with a fantastic view across from cearsars palace and belagio , you can see the water shows at night from your room and its amazing, for the price I would stay here again but if i was bringing the wife i would stay at either the belagio or cesars or Cosmopoliton , overall i would rate this hotel 7 out of ten, very important if you want to save on food buffets, their is a discount ticketing office outside the hotel, get the vouchers and you will pay only half price on lunches and dinners ,if you go direct to this places you will pay full prices, it is so worth it getting the vouchers from discount tickets! enjoy your stay and make sure to catch some sleep !!!

The Go room was ok the elevators and the 20th floor hallway were filthy. Checkin was no problem the desk clerk , wait staff were excellent. This place has gone down hill maybe they could move it downtown.

We stay here two to three times per year. We request a standard king room non-smoking (not a go-room). It is clean, well appointed and for the "Total Rewards" discounted prices offered really a deal. We like the standard rooms because they have a comfortable chair and small sofa. The only thing that would make this room better would be a small refrigerator.

We stayed one night at the Flamingo. The location is great. In the middle of the strip is the place to stay.

The rooms are ok. The beds were fine. The TV needs to be updated if they want to compete with other hotels. The bathroom was old. The shower curtain was yellow and had mold at the bottom of it. That made it look like the shower curtain had been there for years and had not been replaced. The paint on ceiling in the shower had started to warp and needs to be redone. There was also a place on the sink to place razor blades which was interesting and scary at the same time. The best thing about our room was the view. It was an awesome view of Caesars' Palace.

As for the staff, the front desk was awesome. Very friendly. However, the staff at the Tropical Breeze Cafe were horrible. First, we stood in line for about 10 minutes waiting for a seat when there were open tables. We let that go because we thought it could be because of staffing. When we were finally seated we waited another 15 minutes before someone came to ask up for our drink order. Everyone around us was being served except for us. And when we gave our drink order the server just left. I actually never got mine in, just my friend did. 5 minutes later another server asked for our drink order. By this we were done. On our way out I asked for a comment card. The cashier got me the manager instead. Speaking to him was like dealing with the servers. He seemed not care either. He did ask us if we would like to be reseated. He should have asked us that when we were sitting there for 20 minutes with no one helping us.
