70s style golden nugget casino exceeded our expectations. Great big room and very very clean as well. Free parking garage. Great pool with good cocktails all at a very reasonable price. We would definitly stay here again

Thank you so much, Robin V! Although we are constantly making improvements and renovations we like to keep our "Vintage Vegas" vibes.

I'm writing this at 2:30 in the morning because there's so much mechanical noise outside my seventh floor Rush Tower room that it's impossible to sleep. There seem to be a couple of different very loud machines that are running all night. One is like a lawnmower or a saw that is running constantly. The other is a loud, low thumping that repeats every 20 seconds or so. The windows are vibrating. The front desk was unhelpful and the manager simply said she didn't know about any problems. Avoid this hotel.

I've stayed at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles several times and was wanting the Las Vegas GN to be similar, well it wasn't. Don't get me wrong it's not bad but could be better. We were staying Downtown so the area is a little seedier but the overall hotel seemed a little unkept. I understand that the hotel is old but the carpets were dirty and stained and the hallways were kind of dark. We're arrived after 11pm and there was noone in line but it took more than 10 min to check in. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Hi Patsy! Lake Charles is very new compared to our historic property built in 1946. We are constantly updating and refreshing areas of the property, apologies that the carpet in your area was stained. Please reach out to us and let us know the exact location so we can send a request to house keeping.

It wasnt a bad time the staff was proffesional and the room was pretty nice as well. But they had a outdoor concert across the street going on til 3am.. and all the hotel offered us for that annoyance was some EARPLUGS. So 3/5 because i think it is bad service to make guest deal with their entire window/ ac unit shaking and rattling all night from bass not offer them anything at all.

Hi zionloftus19, although we love our location in Downtown, sometimes there is a loud concert. Normally concerts wrap up far before 3am, judging by your date stamp we believe we know what performance you are speaking of. This was a one time only event but nevertheless we understand how frustrating this must have been.

The golden nugget, they really did achieve what they set out to do. Bring a slice of the strip to downtown Vegas. Unlike the other hotels in downtown there just isn't that feel of need of renovation or tacky-ness. They've managed to achieve this with the white and gold decor, everywhere is generally to a great level of clean and manages to stay pretty much smoke for the majority of the day. Onto the rooms, ours was a huge room with possibility the most comfortable king sized bed I've ever slept in. Again clean rooms, plent of room to move stuff around and to store. There's a safe, free to use robes and slippers, around a 40inch TV with plenty of channels and a not so bad view facing north/west of the mountains. Our room was 1583 in the Carlson tower. We had 2 other rooms in our party, a one excatly the same and one with two double beds in the carlson tower. All rooms where thee same size however the two double were far to small, they didn't even look like doubles. Maybe a struggle for more broad people sharing. Casino and lobby have a great vibe although the check in is very slow. We arrived at 2pm (which is check in time for the hotel) and had to stand in the lobby and wait, returning every 15 minutes or so to the que to ask if our room was ready. At 4:45pm we finally got our room key. I was slightly annoyed as no compensation or even sorry off the lady at the desk was even given. (she wasn't interested in the slightest, after years of hotel stays that's definitely the worst experience I've had) The pool and shark tank is a good feature, although pool area gets rather crowded and the drinks are expensive considering I can sit in the casino and get the same drinks for $1. We visited the gym most days before heading out, again a little smaller. A few more machines would be alot better, there's also a weight room but again small. It's lucky not many people in Vegas work out at the hotel! I can't comment on food as we never ate there but some of the party did and recommended the buffet on floor two above the casino. Overall probably the best place to stay downtown Vegas but next time I'll definitely be staying on the strip. Not due to the hotel but that's just where you'll find yourself most days, especially if it's your first time in Vegas! I've added a few pictures from our window and the only ones I have of the room for reference.

Hi Bradley,

We apologize for the check-in wait time and will relay feedback to necessary departments about your experience. We are happy you did enjoy your room and used our amenities such as our pool and gym. We do have "Trip to the Strip" Shuttle locations near the Golden Nugget if you stay here again and want to venture out to The Strip conveniently. We hope to see you again!

Thank you!
