This hotel is sooo awesome - especially for the price. It is family friendly as well. We had a room up on the 16th floor - and it was very nice - clean - housekeeping was great - beds were very comfy. If return to Vegas wouldn't hesitate to go back in a second. Loved it!!!

Room Tip: The top 3 floors - 16, 17 & 18 - are the top of the line for this hotel - if possible book one o...

My favorite of all the hotels downtown. We were really excited about the shark tank and the water slide but were so busy having fun that we didn't even get our swimsuits on. Free Craps lessons were fun and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent but the lunch buffet was only marginal. Pros and cons of the room. Pros: The room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable, plenty of drawers and hangers for clothes. Nice fluffy towels and seemingly unlimited hot water for showers. Quiet hallways at night and could not hear any noise from surrounding rooms. Cons: Clock had wrong time and we could not find any electrical outlets by the bed for our phones. Beware, the TV is very loud when you turn it on and there is no fan in the toilet room so bring a little extra perfume or cologne for sensitive noses. All in all, the important things are all fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here twice over the last year and I feel it is the best hotel downtown. Friendly staff, a huge casino and prime location. Hotel lobby was very clean and the front desk helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious in both the Gold and Rush Towers. Restaurants are a bit pricey but very good. Centrally located on Fremont Street making it easy to walk to many casinos in a short distance. Perfect when you want to casino hop!

Room Tip: Stay in the Rush Towers!

Wow, every year the GN overachieves with customer service, the quality and cleanliness of the place...wow wow wow.
Downtown is the place to be, and the GN is it the place for it.
We were given a free upgrade to a suite this year! Was very nice, it was a tiny bit noisy....but with the suite, we were more than happy to endure that!

Room Tip: Get a Gold Club or Rush Club room, it is well worth the value!

My wife and I took my father in-law to Las Vegas on 9/4/13. We decided to stay downtown so my father in-law didn't have to walk too far between casinos. We stayed at the Golden Nugget and payed extra for the VIP check-in. We arrived at 11 am and were able to check into our rooms. Our original rooms were really far from the elevator so we called and asked to change to rooms closer to the elevator and were immediately give two other rooms. A person met us at the new rooms with the new room keys so we didn't have to go back down to the lobby. Our rooms were very large, clean and comfortable. We were pleased with the staff and the hotel amenities. I would highly recommend the Golden Nugget Hotel if you are staying downtown.

Room Tip: VIP check-in is worth the extra money during busy times.

I just returned from the Golden Nugget where I stayed this weekend. Due to illness of my mother I had to depart one day after arriving. The hotel itself was very nice and very clean. The lobby and casino areas were very smokey as others have mentioned. Our room in the Carson Tower was nicer than the $450/per night room I paid for at the Atlantis in the spring! My only complaint is once you walk out the door of the hotel you are in a low class neighborhood. I will never venture downtown Las Vegas again. There are too many beggers and people out to take your money. I would highly recommend not taking children downtown unless you want to expose them to a lot of "exposure" of performers on the streets (topless women) as others have mentioned.

My husband & I stayed at the Golden Nugget for our 29th wedding anniversary August 30 thru September 2. After mentioning that it was our anniversary, I hoped that we would get an upgrade or at least a coupon book, but Oh Well...Happy Anniversary to us!!! Our room was in the Rush Tower which was very nice, clean and had lots of room. The bathroom was very nice... We had dinner at The Chart House, it was good and had a great view of the aquarium. The gambling did not pay off for us, but we were in Vegas.... Lots of fun stuff to do at Fremont Street, The light show after dark is a must see....People watching is a must, as there are some very interesting people to look at....Dinning is a lot cheaper than on the strip...We are looking forward to our next trip....Thanks
