“Property great; watch out for a couple of restaurants”

Comfy bed, beautiful hotel. But I had two meals I could not eat they were so awful: one was an asian salad at Carson Cafe. It was limp iceburg lettuce, tossed in a thick mayo type dressing... unlike any asian or oriental salad I've ever had. No flavor, heavy, terrible. Then I had a "gyro" at the grill... one bite and I could not eat another.. zero flavor, the meat was like a shredded frozen pre-cooked beef, no salt.... nothing at all like a gyro. This beautiful hotel needs new chefs at their grill and cafe as I would say those are the worst two meals I've had in years. No excuse not to have tasty affordable food. On the other hand the Happy Hour menu at The Chart House was the BOMB. Wish we'd discovered it earlier in the week!

We stayed for three nights at the Nugget and the rooms were fine, a little worn, but probably the best Downtown. The food was very good and the staff was friendly. A very reasonable place in Las Vegas.

Room Tip: Decide which towered you want to stay prior to arrival.

First time in Vegas in 20 years and stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget in anticipation of the "Freemont Street Experience". Big dissapointment. There were 70+ "street people" panhandeling, doing drugs, stoned and otherwise crazy. The "suite" at the Nugget was nothing more than 2 adjoining rooms with the door open.

The Golden Nugget is the grande dame of downtown. I spent two nights in a Rush Tower room during the week, and it was quiet - I think I was the only person on my floor. The decor in the room was very dark. The bed was comfortable but it had an annoying leather lip around it that I kept banging my toes on. The bathroom was outstanding. The on-site restaurants were a little pricey for my tastes, and the breakfast buffet was underwhelming and had a long line. The accommodations - at least in the Rush Tower - are on par with most newer resorts on the strip, and about one-third the cost.

Golden Nugget was awesome ! My husband and I stayed there prior to our trip to California to visit relatives. We were so impressed, we cut our visit short to come back to the hotel. The room was very plush, and the decor was outstanding. Very clean hotel.Very reasonably priced. I look forward to staying there the next time I am in town!

This is the class hotel of Downtown Las Vegas. It's probably nicer than some on the Strip. It's our favorite destination in Las Vegas. That said, it seems to be slipping a bit. The Spa, for instance. On my most recent visit, the Cardio room lacked towels and disinfecting wipes. There were no robes in the lockers and the showers and the sinks did not drain properly. My hotel room had caulk loose in the bathtub and rust on the handles. The restaurants are fine as is the casino. I'm no fan of the fee for wireless and coffee either but that's getting to be par for the course. The attention to detail in the hotel and spa, however, need some improvement. The spa in particular needs some attention. Otherwise, this location rates as excellent.
