“A BEAUTIFUL STAY IN LAS VEGAS”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

The hotel is located just a few blocks from “The Strip” but is far enough away so that there is a wonderful sense of peace and quiet. There is a very welcoming staff, the hotel is immaculately clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast is more than adequate. We loved our stay here. Ray, the front desk administrator, does everything possible to make the guests feel at home. There is also a very nice indoor pool and Jacuzzi. It may well be one of the best hotel values in town.

Room Tip: If street noises bother you, ask for a room on the parking lot side of the building.

We have stayed here on the 3rd floor twice with our 2 dogs. We had a comfortable room facing the parking lot. The bed was very nice and comfortable!!! The hotel is 3 stories and no elevator BUT the desk, parking lot and breakfast room is on the second floor so anyone would not have to do more than 1 flight. The breakfast is an ordinary hotel continental style. We would return because it is a pet friendly hotel, near our son, reasonably priced AND wonderful beds! Bathroom very small.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the parking lot.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip for only 2 nights. The staff were amazing and accommodating. The room was clean and fresh. My complaints are these... the only protein for breakfast is boiled eggs so if you're into carb loading this is the hotel for you. There is not elevator and has 3 floors. Half of the rooms are right on Tropicana so it's noisy(bring ear plugs). Hopefully by the time you read this, they will have fixed the water dispenser in the gym. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was the only one working. Just the little things.

We were expecting a better quality motel based on recent reviews, but instead found a very ordinary place. Although extremely clean, this motel offers small and noisy street-facing rooms, bored staff and a mediocre breakfast. The price, although relatively low, was too high for this very basic place.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room facing the parking lot and on the top floor. But beware, there is no elev...

Our room facing the parking lot was quiet and the beds extremely comfortable. Because I need disabled access, we stayed on the 2nd (main) floor, which is the floor pet owners are assigned to, which could have contributed to the dirty state of the carpet (see below).

Some rooms have better disabled access than ours (we had a shallow tub instead of a shower, and no grab bar [note to owners: adding bars to ALL the bathrooms would be cheap relative to paying out a big settlement to someone unfortunate enough to slip in the shower]), but those rooms had other guests during our trip.

I drag my feet when I walk, which might explain why my feet were filthy black on the soles after just a few trips to and from the bathroom. They left smudges on the bathroom floor, and I kept having to clean them with a damp cloth before crawling into those comfortable white sheets covered with a white duvet.

Lighting is inadequate if you are planning on doing any reading. The front desk described it as "romantic." Desk was comfortable; we didn't try the TV. Free WiFi is a nice bonus, but we had to sign on repeatedly. The password gets changed every weekend without warning.

We skipped the breakfast foods like waffles, bagels, white bread for toast, and sugary dry cereal (the Lucky Charms seemed to be a particular favorite of a number of adults), instead making a good meal of instant oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, fruit (mostly bananas), and yogurt. The in-room coffee was flavorful, and the evening cookies a nice touch.

We loved dealing with Rachel at the front desk when we arrived; the weekend crew were less welcoming and helpful. No apology or explanation was offered when our key cards quit working and had to be reprogrammed.

We would like to stay with La Quinta again. I hope they steam-clean the carpets before we visit.

Room Tip: Pets allowed on the second (main) floor only. We heard some barking but it was mostly quiet.

Enjoyed our stay. After walking around the strip, it was wonderful to come back to a quiet, clean, and friendly hotel. The beds are amazing and soooo comfortable. It was to far to walk to the strip from the hotel, so we parked in "self park" at New York New York. No one bothered us and it FREE. All and all a wonderful trip
