It started off wrong as driving in off the Boulder Highway, we could see what appeared to be the hotel rooms towards the back of the property and the brightly lit casino in the front. There was a sign showing the hotel & casino in roughly the same direction. We headed towards the hotel building, looking for the hotel lobby.
We drove around all the buildings in both directions and then headed towards the casino, to ask for directions. The lobby for the hotel is in one corner of the separate casino building!
We got checked in, and were given a map to the room, which seemed to show us taking a wide path out to the other side of the highway and back into the hotel grounds!
Luckily we ignored the written on path and followed the roads printed on our map.
We were told we were in building one, room nine. However once we were driving, we couldn't see which was building one. There were numbers on the buildings but we didn't see them until the light of the following morning.
We looked at the numbers on the rooms, and thought that we were nowhere near it as the ones we could see all had four digit numbers!
We drove around for a while, finally found a staff member who told us that we were in room 1109 and not room nine!
We got to the room which was a good size two room unit. We immediately noticed the stained carpet and couch, the latter of which was the only place to sit! There was no table or any other chairs. There was no remote for the TV, but a call to the front desk resulted in a very friendly maintenance man arriving very quickly.
We then noticed that the whole unit was not very clean. Baseboards, power outlets, switch plates, coathangers walls etc, were either grimy or dusty! The toilet itself and the fan in there were very noisy and the a/c unit in the queen unit sounded like a two stroke engine firing up! The only clean items in the room were the beds which were very nice and comfortable.
We were prepared for basic as it was a good price, but our room at least needed a deep cleaning.
